These lakes are well known in this region and frequently visited by tourists and Spaniards.A Lake is reached from off the road that goes up from Covadonga, a mythical place to find the cave where the image of the Virgen de Covadonga is worshipped.The lakes are part of the National Park Picos de Europa.
