Spanish Immersion Summer Camp!

Program Options Little Explorers: 3 to 4 year olds

Enrollment Options Enrollment is available on a week-by-week basis.

All Day: 9:00am to 3:00pm ~ $280/week*

Morning Care: 7:00am to 9:00am ~ $25/week* Includes lunch every Friday.

To enroll in one or more weeks of Summer Camp,

complete the Online registration form and upload acopy of your child’s birth certificate, and emergency

authorization form. Payment will be submitted through the Online portal.

LITTLE BIG MINDS SUMMER CAMP 2019 THEMES & DESCRIPTIONS

Watching children’s little eyes light up with wonder, discovery and understanding is magical. This summer,

we will explore the world around us through all of our senses. Weekly themes will guide discussions that

teach children to ask questions in order to find their own answers. Our interactive process not only

exposes children to Spanish through “real world” projects but it creates exciting, interactive opportunities

for children to find JOY in discovery.

Week 1: June 3rd - June 7th - Globe Trotters ~ Columbia

This week we are visiting Colombia where children will have the opportunity to explore

the beautiful countryside villages, try on different regional clothing and dance the

Cumbia with traditional folkloric dancers. Our little chefs will visit a Colombian market

and try their hand at making and tasting empanadas. Que rico!

Week 2: June 10th - June 14th - Globe Trotters ~ Spain

Our adventure continues with a trip to Spain a vibrant country in the heart of Europe.

Known for its delicious cuisine and bold flamenco dancing, a trip to Spain is sure to

awaken all of our senses. Children will try Spanish tapas and have a picnic with

Ferdinand the Bull.

Week 3: June 17th - June 21st - Little Innovators ~ Is a box just a box?

No way! It’s a spaceship, a coffee store, a robot, a train and more! Children naturally

think “outside the box.” They have powerful imaginations that fuel their ability to

create. You’ll never look at a box the same again.

Week 4: June 24th - June 28th - Little Innovators ~ Maker’s Spaces

Let’s inspire creativity with authentic and natural materials that we find and use every

day. Children will work together to use recycled materials and cardboard boxes to

build, invent, explore, create and imagine. If they can dream it, they can build it. Just

add imagination – and a touch of glue.

Week 5: July 8th - July 12th - Creative Artists ~ Asia

Art not only provides important fine motor development opportunities for children but it

boosts self-confidence, creativity and problem-solving skills. This week we will focus

on art techniques traditionally found in Asia including charcoal drawing, Chinese ink,

watercolors and modeling clay.

Week 6: July 15th - July 19th - Creative Artists ~ Europe

European art is as varied as it is prolific. Let’s try our hand a pointillism, paint,

sculpture, wire formations and more. What a fun way to get our hands dirty and

practice the messy art of self-expression.

Summer Camp - General Information Summer Camp 2019 is open to the public as well as current students (ages 3 to 5) and it is available on a week-by-week basis. Children must be potty-trained and at least 3 years of age to participate in the program. Summer registration will not be processed without the Emergency Authorization, immunization records and birth certificate on file.

Programs: Little Explorers: 3 to 4 year-olds

Adventure Seekers: 4 to 5 year-olds

Summer placement will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Placement will not be confirmed until full payment is received. We cannot “hold” spots without full payment. Summer Camp fees must be paid in full by May 1, 2019. Tuition fees are transferrable but not refundable.

Early Bird Discount: Register and pay prior to April 1st and receive a 10% discount.

Special Days: Each week we have special days to add to the fun!

Tuesdays ~ Dress-Up Day. Have your child wear their favorite pretend playoutfit. In the classroom the children will have the opportunity to show off theirspecial costume.

Wednesdays ~ Crazy Hair Day. This is their chance to show off their crazyhair creations.

Thursdays ~ Special Visitor. Each week we invite a Knowledge-Partner tovisit the classroom to bring a theme or concept to life. What better way tolearn than from the expert?

Fridays ~ Water Day. Please send your child to camp in their swimsuits withsunscreen on Fridays. Remember to pack a water bottle, extra sunscreen, ahat and a change of clothes. Kids will cool off and enjoy the water through funwater activities every Friday. (Weather permitting.) Each classroom will havean assigned time throughout the day to enjoy water activities.

Snacks: Little Big Minds provides snacks for all students daily.

Lunch: Lunch is parent-provided Monday thru Thursday. Please send your children to camp with a clearly labeled lunch and re-fillable water bottle. We do not have refrigerators for student lunches so, if your child's lunch needs to be kept cool you will need to provide an ice-pack.

Lunch Bunch Friday: Every Friday, Little Big Minds will provide a lunch for all students.

Sunscreen: Little Big Minds Preschool is a Sun Safe school. Please remember to put sunscreen on your child before they get to school.

Change of Clothes: We ask that ALL children bring a change of clothes in a Ziploc bag marked with their first and last name.

Classroom: Classroom assignments and teachers may vary by week. Please check rosters weekly.
