Salamanca, one of the most ancient cities in Spain, and a university town par excellence, is located in the very heart of Castilla, close to both Madrid and the Portuguese border.

Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the city’s rich diversity of architectural styles reflect its unique place in Spanish history. The Baroque splendour of the stunning Plaza Mayor, the two cathedrals (which combine in unique harmony both Romanesque and late Gothic schools), and the celebrated Plataresque facade of the main University building are merely the most famous monuments in a city full of lesserknown treasures.

The provincial capital has a welcoming character and lively atmosphere that win the heart of all who visit her. The University - founded in 1218 by King Alfonso IX-, a few years after those of Bologna and the Sorbonne- is one of the oldest in the world, and plays host annually to some thirty-five thousand Spanish students, who give the city a youthful, lively and happy air.

For all this, but above all because of the pure, correct Spanish spoken here, many foreign students, both young and old, have found that Salamanca is the perfect place to learn or improve their Spanish. A place where they can combine their studies with culture, art and an unrivalled social scene.

Academia BERCEO Salamanca - the school 

Academia BERCEO Salamanca spec ia l ises in   teaching Spanish tofore igners   f rom 1994. We prov ide h igh-qual i ty Spanish courses ,   6 leve ls , smal l groups (max.10 pupi ls  per  c lass ) .

Teachers possess so l id teaching sk i l l s and a l l s taf f have been carefu l ly se lected to ensure a f r iendly and helpfu l serv ice .

The courses are ava i lab le throughout the year .

TUTORIALS ( f ree)I f a student has d i f f icu l ty in the c lass , he/she

may request a meet ing wi th h is /herteacher  outs ide the c lass schedule .  The

object ive of th is is that a l l groups fo l lowthe same learning path.

The courses begin the f i rst Monday

but   the A1 leve l that begin  the f i rst Monday

of every month.

CERTIF ICADO ( f ree)   -  At the end of each course , s tudents wi l l take an exam which , a long wi th a progress report f rom their instructor , wi l l he lp to determine  i f the student has obta ined the sk i l l s to pass onto the next leve l and to receive a cert i f icate of course complet ion.

Regardless of course complet ion, every student wi l l rece ive a cert i f icate of at tendance.

In order to obta in any of the cert i f icates ment ioned above, ora lso  to be able to advance to the next leve l , i t i s compulsory to have at tended a minimum of 80% of the c lasses .

Students who start at the col lege af ter the f i rst week of the month may  jo in a course which has a l ready started at the ir corresponding leve l .

L05 SUPERINTENSIVE COURSE

5 sessions daily

- 1 lesson of theory and grammar practice. - 1 lesson of comunicatives practices.

- 1 lesson of oral expression and auditory understanding.

- 1 lesson of understanding of reading and oral expression.

For the levels A1 and A2:

- 1 lesson of Spanish oral interaction and lexical extension.

For the levels B1 and B2: - 1 lesson of lexical extension, Idioms; or culture.

For the levels C1 y C2: -1 lesson of Spanish culture.

A comprehensive course that gives the opportunity to extend training

in Spanish culture. Course length per level:

A1-A2: 6 weeks, 125 hrs. B1-C2: 9 weeks, 180 hrs.

COURSESL04- INTENSIVE SPANISH COURSE

4 sessions daily

- 1 lesson of theory and grammar practice.

- 1 lesson of comunicativas practices.

- 1 lesson of oral expression and auditory

understanding.

- 1 lesson of understanding of reading and

oral expression.

It is a very comprehensive course that

provides a strong foundation in all the

language skill areas including speaking,

listening, reading and writing.

Course length per level:

A1-A2: 6 weeks, 100 hrs.

B1-C2: 9 weeks, 150 hrs.

D06- Preparation D.E.L.E. course

These courses are programmed for students who wish to obtain any DELE (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2) only official Spansih titles sent by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Spain and the Cervantes Institute.

There are 6 levels for DELE exams, BERCEO offers preparation DELE courses for A2, B1, B2 y C1 levels; If there is any student who likes prepare DELE A1 or C2, please consult with BERCEO.

All students are required to do homework and they have special tutorials with teachers who provide remediation of skills/subject.

The course lasts from 6 to 8 weeks calculated from the official dates for examinations DELE.

The number of pupis in the class is from 1 to 10 pupils maximum. Before beginning the course, students take a level test to check whether they have the level of knowledge required.

An exam will be done weekly by students in order to evaluate their progress.

SPECIAL Courses

10- PRIVATE LESSONS Personalised Spanish lessons at all levels. Especially tailored for students, who wish to learn Spanish, revise or widen their knowledge of Spanish language, culture, literature, business Spanish.... and adapt themselves to their profession. You may choose the number and timing of Spanish lessons. This option is offered all the year round.

The private lessons can be a course unto itself or a complement to another course. Two students of the same level can form a group if they want a private lesson The student agree with the teacher the aim and contents, and the teacher under the academic coordination of BERCEO prepares the program in order to achieve that goald.

BERCEO plans and organizes custom-designed stays and Spanish courses for groups of any age, universities, colleges, agencies, schools .. geared to the needs and interests of the group. The duration, dates, course programme, activities, airport pick-up, accommodation type... are chosen in accordance with the characteristics and interests of each group, (free for teachers or group leaders), arrangeand draw up a specific programme of out-of-class activities. SPECIAL SPANISH COURSE FOR GROUPS

SPECIAL CoursesE12- SPECIAL SPANISH COURSE FOR TEENAGERS STUDENTS

Course adapted pedagogically for adolescents (16-18 years). The course consists of four daily sessions of class of Spanish and one series of extrascholastic activities depending on its age and preferences.

-1 lesson of theory and grammar practice. -1 lesson of oral expression. -1 lesson of comunicatives practices. -1 audio-visual means lesson.

*The student has to live compulsorily with a Spanish family or residence with full board.

E11- INDIVIDUAL COURSE OF TOTAL INMERSION

Each day is made up as follows: - 1 lesson of theory and Spanish grammar practice. - 1 lesson of comunicatives practices. - 1 hour of spoken Spanish. - 1 hour of written Spanish and reading understanding. - 1 hour of lexical extension in a field to choose. - 1 hour of lunch accompanied by a professor.- 1 hour of activities outside the classroom.

*The student’s lunch is not included in the price.. This course with Individual lessons is ideal if you prefer a very personal focus on your own aims.

Course length per level: A1-A2: 6 semanas, 100 hrs. B1-C2: 9 semanas, 150 hrs.

Course length: 5 days, 35 hours.

Designed for those who, with limited time at their disposal, or who prefer individual approach, need to rapidly acquire an in-depth knowlegde of Spanish (at any time of the year) through complete individual immersion in the subject. In order to attain this goal, the student has continual and exclusive access to a personal tutor during the majority of the day.

Accommodation

On the registration form you should state the start date of your accommodation.

In the confirmation letter of the course BERCEO we will give you the address of your chosen accommodation and it description, you can go directly there on arrival.

If a student is not entirely comfortable for any reason in the accommodation that we have assigned to him/her, he/she must inform the school within the first three days of their stay and we will quickly find an alternative.

This is an optional service.

All our accommodations, families, flats, residence... are located inthe city centre in a maximum of 15 minutes’ walk to

the Plaza Mayor and to BERCEO

Accommodations are offered throughout the year.

All options have everything you need to live comfortably and enjoya pleasant stay in Salamanca.

A students who stay for longer than one month has the opportunityto reserve mixed accommodation. For example, the first month

with a family and afterwards in a student flat.

You can chose: Single room or Double room.

Every flats has internet, a kichen, sitting-room. central

heating, and hot water. They are equipped with the

necessary furniture to make your stay pleasant

and comfortable.

The kitchen is supplied with all the necessary utensils

(pots, pans, plates, glasses, etc.). All flats have a

washing machine and fridge.

This is the best way of both practising the Spanish

language and becoming familiar with Spanish

customs and habits.

Families chosen by BERCEO have been selected

with the greatest care, live in the city center and

their accommodation enjoys all modern

conveniences, and you will be welcomed as

another member of the family.

You can chose:

The family will provide blankets, sheets, duvets

and towels.

Students will receive the key to the family house in

order to be able to come and go as they wish.

INSCRIPTION

To reserve a place in one of BERCEO courses, you have to send your registration by the web or mail.

Sending the registration form you also have to send a preinscription of 150 euros in order to guarantee your place reserved. This payment will be deducted from the total cost.

When we receive your registration form, we will send you

- The confirmation of your course

- Your accommodation address

- A map of Salamanca with the college, Plaza Mayor, the

train and bus stations and your accommodation all

highlighted.

- All the necessary information so that you won’t have any

problems during your journey.
