CONCRETE SPACERS
SPACERS
APPLICATIONCast concrete spacers should always be used whenever special require-ments are made on the surface of the concrete components; these include reduced water penetration depth, resistance to frost/thawing, drinking water neutrality etc. In addition, concrete spacers are especially pressure-resistant. There are numerous designs to choose from, depending on the application.
PROCESSINGDuring selection of the spacers, care must be taken that only spacers with attachment possibilities (clip or wire) are used for vertical reinforcements.
IMPORTANTSelection and use of spacers are regulated by the following among others: DIN EN 1992-1-1:2011-01 EUROCODE 2 Specification sheets from the German Association for Concrete and Construc-tion Technology: “Abstandhalter” [Spacers], “Unterstützungen” [Supports], “Betondeckung und Bewehrung” [Concrete cover and reinforcement]
