Experience and Milestones (cont.)
SVC was the first company to launch a suborbital rocket system using surplus Minuteman rocket motors:
• Aries (NRL) first flight test Oct 17, 1973• Conestoga (SSI) first commercial
sponsored launch Sept 8, 1982• HOE (Lockheed) first NMD interceptor
program launched Feb 7, 1983• Hera (Coleman) first standard high fidelity
target launched Apr 24, 1995• AltAir (NAIC) first “air drop” target
demonstration Jan 30, 1997 Aries – Single Stage M56 Motor

Responsive, Flexible and ReliableSpace Vector has earned a well deserved reputation with each of its customers that comes from our ability to:
• Serve as “Prime” or “Subcontractor”• Support vehicle designs that use de-commissioned
surplus or commercial motors• Launch from various sites and platforms around the
world• Manage CONOPS for military and commercial
launchesait-2 target built for AF-SMC was the second
vehicle launched from Kodiak, Alaska

Engineering and Planning
Launch Vehicle Solutions by DesignMission success is neither chance nor guaranteed. Mission success is the culmination of various disciplines working together towards a common solution to any given set of requirements.
Space Vector is uniquely qualified to achieving that success. With its in-house design, manufacturing, integration and test capability. Space Vector can control every aspect of a mission or vehicle subsystem from requirements planning to post-flight analysis.

Vehicle Subsystems
Structural Assemblies• Space Vector design and
manufacturers numerous structural assemblies from 9 to 60+ inches including:− Nose Fairings− Guidance Sections− Adapters− Skirt/Fin Assemblies
• In addition to vehicle structures, SVC has designed and manufactured vehicle support and ground support equipment including:− Booster Erectors and Lifting Slings− Vehicle Emplacement Rings− Vehicle Sled and Extractors for Air Launch Deployments

Facilities and Capabilities
On-Time and On-BudgetSpace Vector’s business model is based on a vertically integrated engineering, manufacturing and customer support approach. Most all turning, milling, assembly, test and integration is performed in our California facilities. This enables SVC to manage every aspect of a given program.
SVC maintains its own:• Electronic Laboratories• Manufacturing• Test Facilities• Class 100,000 Clean Room• GNC Laboratory• Thermal Chambers• Assembly and Integration Areas
Our Quality System is certified to ISO 9001 & AS9100 standards

Summary
Providing Launch Vehicle SolutionsFor more that 30 years, Space Vector has contributed to the success of numerous military and commercial launch vehicle program. That success is a direct result of our:
• Financial strength and stability (Pemco Aviation Group: NASDAQ-PAGI)• Heritage of successful launches and industry firsts• Engineered solutions and planning that meets the customers mission requirements• Vehicle selection and design tailored to the customers payload and operational
requirements• Wide assortment of vehicle subsystems including boost and guidance controls,
separation systems, flight termination systems and ground support• Engineering services that include 6DOF modeling, analysis, and mission planning• Vertically integrated manufacturing, test and integration capability that insures the
customers vehicle and mission will be on-time and on-budget

Market Forces
Shrinking Market– HERA (1992 – 1998)
• Initially a major supplier• Prime (a competitor) transitioned work in house
– PLV (1990 – 2002)• 2 – 3 launches a year• Surrogate for GMD Interceptor, retired when booster
entered test program– Selection of Targets and Countermeasures Prime
Contractor
15
SVC Strategies
• Focus on core competencies• Leverage existing partnerships• Look for synergies• Every member of staff is a BD exec
16
Focus on core competencies
• What does SVC do well?– Low cost components at any production rate– Systems integration– Performance analysis– Vehicle and ground software
• Smaller-sized company– Your project is big to us– More attention to your unique needs—we don’t use a one-
size-fits-all approach
17
Leverage existing partnerships
• With customers– Lockheed Martin PLV relationship– SMC RSLP contract
• With suppliers– Ordnance suppliers– Flight termination systems
18
Look for synergies
• Apply existing products to new possibilities– AltAir -> AirLaunch, Responsive Space, COTS– PLV -> technology demonstration flights– Flight Termination Batteries -> Vehicle Batteries
• Provide value-added co-products– Cold gas RCS -> interface unit, controller firmware, flight
software– Batteries -> charging equipment, monitors– Air Launch Vehicle -> instrumentation, test hardware
19
Business Development
• Every member of staff is a BD exec• Every contact is a potential business
relationship• There is no substitute for superior performance• Staffing is key
