Born and raised in Westchester, Laura anne Pelliccio is a NYS Licensed Aesthetician, spa expert and seasoned columnist. Pelliccio critiques topics pertaining to the overall spa, beauty and wellness industry. She spent seven years as the Senior Aesthetician and Spa Manager for Equinox Fitness and Spa. She then managed two of the largest spa destinations in New York. First, The Plaza Spa & Fitness Center in The Plaza Hotel while consulting through its renovation period. Following

The Plaza, Pelliccio managed The ocean View Salon in the Seawater Spa at Gurney's Inn in Montauk.

Pelliccio is well -rounded in ground level start-up spa operations, overall spa management, treatment room services, and profitable spa development, but her marketing skills are what bring her creativity out.

With this, she has been able to make appearances on news interviews, radio segments and has landed spots on reality TV. Pelliccio now resides in East Hampton.

Mackin is from East Hampton and currently lives in Manhattan. She is the Arts Editor and Associate Publisher of The Independent Newspaper and the Editor in Chief of Hampton Daze Magazine. Mackin has been involved in special event planning for the past five years. She is also an avid spa-goer and loves to report on all of her spa experiences. She feels that the Spa Soirée is a great opportunity for the spa industry to meet, network and mingle in a fun environment.

By Melanie FitzgeraldBarber Lounge 36, located

at 36A Hampton Road in the Village of Southampton, is not your run of the mill barbershop. From the eyes of its creators, it is a movement represented by young entrepreneurship. Co-owner Liam DeFronzo became passionate about this idea in high school.

Growing up in East Rockaway, he was accustomed to being freshly groomed, but after moving to the Hamptons he had difficulty finding a barber that provided the services he was used to. After graduating college he and co-owner Carlos

Flores decided to put their ideas into action. Sebastian Diaz, who is also part owner and head barber, joined the team and they were ready to make the dream a reality.

Barber Lounge 36 provides a high-end lounge experience for its customers. It is an establishment where men can come to relax and socialize while indulging in an array of grooming services.

Besides offering a variety of current haircuts and styles, customers can also get a fresh shave or spray tan. They use only the highest-quality men’s hair and facial products. Patrons can also

unwind with complimentary drinks, coffee and cigars in the full lounge area, which is equipped with leather couches and chairs and a large flat-screen TV.

These guys are excited to bring something new to the East End, as Liam expressed, “Even though our families are all living in East Hampton, we do not come from money. Our families live very modestly and do struggle to stay here. We represent the working class community, the neighborhood boys, young entrepreneurs and small business. Although it may appear we live simple lives, we

tend to think outside the box. We hope to make our community proud and offer our fellow men a great service while doing so.”

Barber Lounge 36 is open Tuesday and Wednesday 10 AM to 7PM, Thursday to Saturday 10 AM to 8 PM, and Sunday 10 AM to 5 PM. You can call to make an appointment at 631-204-5749. They also take walk-in appointments. Visit their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/barberlounge36.
