Many rooms also feature traditional Tyrolean stoves and separate seating areas. Old pictures and historic family photographs adorn the walls, and exquisite pieces of antique farmhouse furniture add to the overall charm. Light timbers combine with country-style fabrics for an ambience as warm as it is chic – colours, patterns and the subtlety of silk, porcelain and pewter interacting in pleasing harmony. The kitchen’s offerings are designed to delight: choose between the six- or eight-course menu, both of which are tempting reflections of regional culinary treasures, fabulous Austrian classics and international favourites. The wine service is in the gifted hands of our accomplished sommelier who savours the challenge of utilising the almost limitless resources of our well-stocked cellar. The ambience in the Hubertus Stube is sumptuous, in a league of its own – and does full justice to St Hubertus, patron saint of hunters.

The World of Fine Wine is a British publication that annually tests the wine lists of the world’s leading hotels and restaurants. We are delighted that we are among 2015’s winners: we were awarded three stars, the highest possible rating, for our cellar’s 20,000 bottles of 1,100 different wines. The World’s Best Wine List Awards are deemed to be the most prestigious on the sommelier scene - comparable in importance only to the Gault Millau toques and Michelin stars conferred on top chefs.

The jury was particularly impressed that the wine list, as well as featuring such rarities as a Château Mouton Rothschild 1948 and Château Lafite Rothschild 1916, centres on a collection of fine Austrian wines that work beautifully with our outstanding Tyrolean cuisine.

A peek behind the scenes A sense of place –

a sense of homeThe 5-star Jagdhof first established a reputation as a major player in the world of hospitality back in 1978. We are proud of our Tyrolean heritage and enjoy celebrating the culinary jewels of our beloved Stubai Valley.

Much of the produce we use in the kitchen is organic and sourced directly from local farms, while carefully selected suppliers provide us with the best from around the world. We do our own shooting and deer stalking to supply the kitchen with abundant game and venison, and our Alpine pasture lamb is farmed by none other than Head Chef Leo Pfurtscheller!

Distinctly unique – the Fondue Ski Gondola

Venture out to the snow-covered terrace, take a seat, and soak in the atmosphere of the Fondue Express. From the outside it looks like a ski gondola, but on the inside it’s all heart: guests are greeted by the charm of a traditional Tyrolean parlour with breathtaking views of the glacier. Savour culinary tradition with a certain je ne sais quoi and embark on a delicious fondue trip with three stops: meat, cheese and chocolate. The ambience is intimate, the views are stunning, and the experience is truly unique!

Culinary freedom

The morning begins with a lavish buffet: seasonal fruit, freshly pressed juices, homemade yoghurts, jams and local honey, a wide variety of cheeses, delicious bread made with locally milled flour, pastries and cakes, freshly prepared egg dishes, and the finest cold cuts to help guests jump-start their day.

At lunchtime there is a choice between a sumptuous meal and a light à la carte snack, while in the afternoon the sweet seduction of strudel and cakes is included in the half board. Enjoy all of this wherever the fancy takes you: on one of the terraces where you can enjoy magnificent views, in the peaceful wildlife garden, or on one of the spacious sun decks by the pool... We give you full culinary freedom – because who knows in the morning what the evening will bring?

In the evening, richly atmospheric wood-panelled rooms provide the perfect environment for enjoying dinner with a choice of dishes for each of the (several) courses, as well as a salad buffet and wide range of cheeses. We are happy to look after the needs of those with food intolerances.
