Bringing Power to Cambodia and Beyond

Reason: To combat water borne pathogens Past

• Implemented solar panels• Attempted multiple water purification processes and

it has been beneficial to learn what won’t work

Present• Present water purifier is working properly• Solar panel batteries are failing but is being

explored

Future• First Step: Find sustainable water purification system• Second: Stabilize battery life• Third: Implement ice production for distribution or

refrigeration

Page 12: Soy Beans: Value Added

Upcoming-• Disinfecting tanks• Water samples (lake and filtered water)• Gathering statistical information• Upgrading batteries

Refrigeration:Refrigeration is still a viable possibility and may be used to sustain other ventures including the provision of nutritious meals to the kids of the lake.

Ice Machine:Powering an ice cubing machine is no longer feasible because the demand is for ice blocks instead of ice cubes due to climate and use. However, the barge has enough energy to sustain an ice block maker and a block ice machine is being researched.

Learning Center:There is still a substantial need for training about many things, including electricity and food safety. The development of a training and learning community center is seen in future scenarios.
