Snowmobiling

Welcome to the thrill of snowmobiling. We have one of the most scenic and exciting snowmobiling areas in the country with over 160 miles of groomed trails and epic powder play areas. You’ll be buzzing through pines and aspens, kicking up piles of the white fluffy stuff. Incredible views of red rock wonders like Cedar Breaks National Monument and the Virgin River Rim will zoom past. Spectacular mountains, scenic open space, and colorful red rock contrasted by the white snow, make Southern Utah a snowmobiling wonderland. Here’s the best part - you can rent a machine from a local outfitter (some even bring the machines right to you) or even better, take a tour with a seasoned guide who will show you some of the sweetest spots on the mountain.

Ski & Snowboard

Brian Head Resort is Utah’s best kept secret - pure and simple. They keep winter sports fun and affordable with the lowest lift ticket prices for a full service ski resort in Utah (mid $40’s). There are virtually no lift lines so you can actually enjoy your time on the slopes. Brian Head has two mountains with 8 chairlifts and terrain to fit almost any skier or boarder. Navajo Mountain is completely dedicated to beginners, with a ski school, beginner terrain park and daycare.

resort FactsRecent expansion has added 35% more terrain, two new chairlifts and a skier bridge to connect the two mountains.

Brian Head has Utah’s highest base elevation at 9,600 feet which practically guarantees lots of Utah’s famous powder - about 400 inches annually.

Brian Head features 65 runs over 650 skiable acres with 40% of the runs designated easy, 40% intermediate and 20% most difficult.

1,320 foot lift served vertical drop. Total vertical drop (including hiking accessed terrain) is 1,707 feet.

aPrèS Ski and entertainMentBrian head resortWhether you’re looking for a drink, live entertainment or a bite to eat, your nights are full of activity. On the weekends live music or karaoke can often be found in Cedar City or Brian Head taverns. The Grind Coffee Shop is an emerging spot for local and touring bands to stop, play a bit and entertain the masses. Don’t forget Groovacious – the coolest place to “be at one” with the music world.

Southern utah university offers a richness of culture that accompanies one of “America’s Best Colleges”. The Visual and Performing Arts College have many exhibits and performances during the winter months. Come see why Consumer Digest lists SUU in its’ top ten yet again.

Cedar City Music arts winter lineup ranges from the Utah Symphony Orchestra, String Quartet, pianists, the Vienna Boys Choir, and Broadway Musicals. The Heritage Center and Festival Hall offers a state of the art theater as well as convention space, conference facilities and meeting space. There’s always something to see as you stroll around Cedar City or Parowan Historic Main Streets. Local galleries, artisans and local vendors converge to appeal to both the browser and the shopping connoisseur in you. So, shop ‘til you drop, or at least wear yourself out trying.

Bryce CanyonJust an hour east of Cedar City & Brian Head is the spectacular, fairyland world of Bryce Canyon National Park. Limestone hoodoos glimmer in the snow. Rent cross-country skis or simply tour the main canyon scenic overlooks. Winter in Bryce Canyon is a completely different and magnificent experience!

north Zion’s kolob CanyonsThe rugged “finger canyons” of red Navajo sandstone are stunning in winter. The Kolob Canyons portion of Zion is considered to be the most conveniently located national park in Utah; it’s right off Interstate 15, exit #40.

Head south to Zion Canyon, Utah’s most popular national park. In the winter the crowds are light, so you practically have the canyon to yourself. Hike the many trails, see frozen waterfalls and a slight dusting of snow on the canyon tops.

We take our fun very seriously here. Remember loading up a pick up truck piled high with inner tubes, trudging up the mountain and blazing down the mountain hoping for a safe landing at the bottom? All the wacky variables are eliminated with a real bona-fide Snow Tube Park at Brian Head Resort.

Take a lift that effortlessly whisks you to the top of the park. The tubes are pulled up for you! Once at the top, your job is to sit down, hold on, and enjoy the RIDE. Burn Rubber – race your kids, race your friends, be the King of the Hill. The Snow Tube Park offers 6 lanes to choose from. Two hour sessions are available. For the non- skiers or snowboarders, or even just to take a break from the ski hill, the Snow Tube Park offers another great way to have fun on the snow.

Cedar Breaks in Winter

Gaze into the red rock amphitheater of Cedar Breaks and with each look you’ll discover something you’ve not seen before; an arch, a trail, a funky rock formation. Cedar Breaks is a spectacular sight anytime of year, but the wintertime vistas of “The Breaks” are well worth the extra effort.

Just because Highway 148, the road that links Cedar Breaks to Brian Head, closes temporarily during the winter months, doesn’t mean Cedar Breaks National Monument is closed. The Winter Warming Yurt at Cedar Breaks serves as a winter ranger station, education center and welcomes cross-country skiers, snowshoers and snowmobilers to stop in, sit by the fire, and sip a bit of hot cocoa.

What the heck is a Yurt? Besides being fun to say, a Yurt is circular domed tent-like structure built around a wooden frame. It has a wooden floor, but more importantly, ours has cozy wood stove and hot chocolate to warm the winter adventurer.

night Skiing

Just because the sun goes down doesn’t mean your day on the slopes has to end. Most weekends, the fun continues with affordable skiing and snowboarding after-hours at Brian Head Resort’s Navajo Lodge Learning Center. The lighted runs of “Pioneer Chair Lift #6” give you a new perspective of Brian Head Resort. You can float on the fresh powder - as though you’re skiing or snowboarding through a black and white Ansell Adams portrait. Come float under the majestic night sky.
