The East Coast USA Pageant will now host two Regional Finals Pageants that are preliminaries to the National Finals. The Mid-Atlantic Regional Finals to be held in New Jersey and the Southern Regional Finals to be held in Maryland. Contestants that qualify at these Regional Finals competitions will advance to the National Finals held July 25-27, 2014 in Whippany, New Jersey!

THE MAIN EVENTBEAUTY COMPETITION

BEAUTY COMPETITIONThis is your time to shine! All contestants will compete in this competition. Contestants will do a simple walk on the stage. The stage will be in the shape of a T crossing at the back. There will be four X’s marked on the stage. Please see diagram. Contestant should stop at each X marked on the stage and turn at either all of the X’s or the ones of their choos-ing. All contestants up to age 11 yrs. can wear a short or long dress. Ages 12 yrs. and over should wear a floor length eve-ning gown. Judging will be based on facial beauty, stage presence personality and overall appeal.

GROUP LINE UPEach age division will come on stage together before they com-pete individually. They will line up across the back of the stage and smile for the judges as they score the beauty side awards. This also gives the judges a chance to access the group as a whole. Mr. Tim Whitmer our emcee will per-form and sing to the contestants when they are on-stage.

Baby & Toddler Contestants ages 0-5 years will have an emcee card read about them when they are on stage. A parent, sibling or friend of each toddler contestant 0-3 yrs. is allowed on stage with them at all times.

ON-STAGE INTRODUCTIONAll contestants ages 6 years and up will give a simple introduction of themselves to the audience and judges during the beauty competi-tion. Contestants should say their name, where they are from, their hobbies or interests and their ambition for the future. They will be handed the microphone on the first X on-stage, say their speech, hand the microphone back and proceed with their walk. This will account for about 10% of their beauty competi-tion score.

SPEECH EXAMPLES For a Child“Hello my name is Lily Handler and I’m 6 years old from Northport, New York. I love dance and theater class. When I grow up I would like to be an astronaut or a doctor!”

For an Adult“Good afternoon my name is Elizabeth Percy coming to you from Union Beach, New Jersey. I enjoy performing in my community theater, volunteering for Hurricane Sandy relief and camping with my family and friends. My dream for the future is to land a roll on Broadway and continue to make a difference in my community!”

Contestants Ages 0-11 years are not permitted to wear any make-up. Clear lip gloss and clear mascara are allowed only. They are not allowed to use false tanning, eyelashes, fl ippers, falls, wiglets or hair pieces when competing in any of the on-stage events. If your child wears braids or hair extensions in their hair as part of their EVERYDAY look that is ok to compete with at East Coast USA. We also understand that some children have medial conditions that require them to wear a hair piece. Please bring this to the attention of the director for assistance. Contes-tants are checked to make sure they are following the guidelines before they go on-stage.

Time Limit: 2 minutesWe provide the music for the beauty competition and all of the on-stage competitions.

Rules & GuidelinesWe will no longer be allowing flips, cartwheels or round offs in fitness routines. For dancers we encourage you to wear your dancing attire and you can do “dance moves” at each X however we are not looking for a talent routine. This is a modeling event.

RUNWAYTime Limit: 1 minute This is a free style runway mod-eling event. Attire should be a trendy “boutique” outfit or a high fashion “vogue” look. Choose an outfit that showcases your personality. This is your chance to show the judges your unique style and have fun! The stage will remain a T shape and the music will be fast and upbeat. Contestants should stop at each X on the stage, strike a pose, turn and/or show some person-ality! Judging will be based on personality, modeling ability and overall appearance.

SWIMWEARTime Limit: 1 minute This is a free style modeling event. Swimsuits can be a one or two pieces for contestant’s ages 12 years old and up but must be a one piece for contestants 0-11 years A one piece is a solid piece of fabric throughout the front of the swim suit. No cut outs or sheer material sewn on to try and resemble a two piece please. Under no circum-stance is the stomach to show on a contestant 0-11 years Children 0-11 years should go barefoot or wear a sandal and contestants ages 12 years and up may wear a sandal or heels. The stage will re-main a T shape and the music will be fast and upbeat. Contestants should stop at each X on the stage, strike a pose, turn and/or show some personality! Judging will be based on fitness, personality, stage presence and overall appeal.

PHYSICAL FITNESSTime Limit: 1 minute This is a free style modeling event. Attire can be any outfit that represents an activity that you do to stay in shape! Some examples are aerobic wear, a sports uni-form or a dance costume. The stage will remain a T shape and the music will be fast and upbeat. Contestants should stop at each X on the stage, strike a pose, turn and/or show some personality! Judging will be based on fitness, personality, stage presence and overall appeal.

PATRIOTIC WEARTime Limit: 1 minute This is a free style modeling event. Show us your American spirit! Attire should include the colors red, white and blue. The stage will remain a T shape and the music will be fast and upbeat. Contestants should stop at each X on the stage, strike a pose, turn and/or show some personality! Hand held props may be used. Judging will be based on person-ality, creativity, stage presence and overall appeal.

TITLESTo qualify for our Supreme titles contestants must compete in the beauty competition and two optional events. One of the optional events must be on stage for example: Runway. We offer eight different optional events to choose from. Choose the ones that are best for you! We will awards winners for each one in each age division.

If you compete in more than two optional events, only your HIGHEST SCORES will be used towards your Supreme Score.

The Overall Most Beautiful Supreme title is chosen by the highest Beauty Competition score in the pageant.

PORTFOLIOShow us your modeling poten-tial by putting together a book of your best photos! Photos should all be printed 8-10” or 8-11” and organized into a book. You should include a minimum of ten photos. These photos should be both indoors and outdoors, full length and head shots Keep your portfolio interesting with a variety of different looks leaving our judges wanting to see more! Light make up is allowed by all ages for your photos. Photos may be lightly retouched, cropped and/or have lighting adjusted. NO “GLITZ” PHOTOS PLEASE. Judging will be based on com-mercial appeal, print modeling potential, modeling style, creativ-ity, quality and clarity.

COMPOSITEComposite Size May Vary A composite is a card that you turn into a casting director at an audition. It showcases 4-6 of your best photos and sizing informa-tion. Cards are typically sized 8.52” x 5.47” or 8-10”. To make a comp card yourself we recom-mend using Vistaprint.com and choosing the over-sized postcard option to create your card and get it printed. Contestant’s name, date of birth, contact informa-tion and size should be included. If you compete in this optional event we are now recommend-ing that you leave the card with us that you turn in so we can use it for future opportunities for you that come our way! Judging will be based on print model poten-tial, facial beauty, overall appeal, quality and clarity.

PRINT MODELPhoto Sizes: 8-10” or 8.5-11” This should be a professional full length photo. We are looking for a photo that captures your person-ality and your personal style. Tips for Finding Sponsors/Advertisers!1. Make a list of prospective sponsors/advertisers! Think about people you do business with on a regular basis or refer to the list below for some ideas. Make a list and set aside a date to visit them.

2. Visit a sponsor/advertiser in person! When you visit the business in person it will come across that you are motivated and that you are truly a dedicated person. Dress to impress!

3. Explain to them your goal and ask for their support.

4. If they are willing to help you thank them and follow up with a thank you note! If they can’t help you, thank them for their time.

5. Never give up! Winner’s never quit and quitters never win!

If you sell enough pages to cover your entry fee any additional money earned ($50.00 per full page) will be held on credit for you to use at any future East Coast USA Pageant.
