William Faulkner
William Faulkner1897 - 1962
• Full Name: William Cuthbert Faulkner• Born in: Albany, Mississippi • Spent most of his life in Oxford, Mississippi• Briefly went to the University of Mississippi• Joined and briefly served in the Canadian and
later the British Royal Air Force• Spent time as a screen writer in Hollywood
Faulkner Continued. . .Faulkner wrote many volumes of poetry and short stories.
Faulkner won the prestigious Nobel Prize in Literature in 1949. Faulkner received it a year later in 1950.
Faulkner has been named amongst some of the greatest writers in the 20th century.
