Qestions to the VetIn the last issue of the magazine some of the information

on worming foals was not correct

QuestionI wormed my mare before she went away to stud last may. She hasnow returned home, hopefully in foal, so could you please recommenda worming programme for her until foaling and the foal for the firstyear. I understand that not all wormers are suitable for the foal.AnswerEquest and Eqvalan are safe for mares in foal but whatever wormeryou use always read the instructions first be for usingFoals should not need worming for 4-6 months after birth as if themare has been wormed correctly the wormer will be in her milk.Panacure is a safe wormer for foals, but always read the instructionsfirst on any wormers..
