“South Indian evening”

On 29th September the True Way Trust (TWT) e.V.

for Vivegamgodfrey India organised a “South Indian

Evening” in Leipzig. It was one highlight within the

program of the Intercultural weeks of Leipzig 2012

(organised by Sachsen Government and Stadt

Leipzig). It was the first time TWT showed South

Indian culture in this city. More than hundred

participants from ten different countries took part

on this event. Such as; India, Germany, Sri-Lanka,

Bangladesh, Pakistan, United Kingdom, Australia,

Kenya, Kyrgyzstan and China.

South Indian Evening September 2012

The Food of South Indians; such as Dosai, Coconut

chutney, Tomato chutney, Chapatti and Lime rice of

Tamil Nadu was the central attraction of the

evening. Appam and Aviyal of Kerala, Bisibelebath,

Vangibath of Karnataka and Andhra Capsicum

Masala, Cabbage Aava pettina Koora of Andhra

Pradesh were the main foods prepared for the event.

The snacks Rava Laddu and Murukku, home made by Mercy Peace Edwin could be bought as

an added attraction during the programme. The coconut milk with fruits drinks and Indian

Masala tea added sweetness to the food varieties of the evening.

At the end you could learn to make Masala Dosa and Veda on your own.

The power point presentation of South Indian Relationships with Germany was the historical

information for the participants of the event.




True Way Trust e.V. gave an opportunity to explore www.Vivegamgodfrey.org projects in India for

participants of the South Indian Evening.

It was great honour and happiness for the TWT members in Leipzig to organise this unique event for

the native Germans and international people in Leipzig

“South Indian evening”

Am 29. September organisierte der “True Way Trust e.V.

for Vivegamgodfrey India” einen südindischen Abend in

Leipzig. Er war einer der Höhepunkte der Interkulturellen

Wochen von Leipzig 2012 (- eine Veranstaltung des

Landes Sachsen und der Stadt Leipzig). Dies war das

erste Mal, dass der TWT die Gelegenheit hatte Süd-

Indische Kultur in dieser Stadt zu präsentieren. Mehr als

einhundert Teilnehmer aus zehn verschiedenen Ländern

nahmen an der Veranstaltung teil. Mit dabei waren

Indien, Deutschland, Sri-Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan,

Großbritannien , Australia, Kenya, Kirgisistan und China.

Deutsch


Das typische Essen der Süd-Inder wie z.B. Dosa,

Kokosnuss-Chutney, Tomaten-Chutney, Chapatti

und Zitronen-Reis aus Tamil Nadu stand im

Mittelpunkt des Abends. Weiterhin gab es Appam

(Anm. D. Übers.:Reisfladen) und Aviyal (Anm. D.

Übers.:Gemüse-Joghurt-Soße) aus Kerala,

Bisibelebath, Vangibath aus Karnataka und Andhra

Capsicum Masala, südindisches Kohlgemüse aus

Andrah Pradesh und andere Speisen aus Süd-Indien.

Außerdem gab es hausgemachte Snacks zu erstehen,

handgemacht von Mercy Peace Edwin, die noch einen

kleinen Zusatz zum Büffet während des Programmes

darstellten. Die Kokosnuss-Milch mit Fruchtsäften und

indischem Gewürztee („Chai“) rundeten das Angebot von

der Getränke-Seite her ab. Zum Schluss konnte man noch

lernen indische Dosa und Waddai selbst herzustellen.

Die Präsentationen über die Beziehungen zwischen

Süd-Indien und Deutschland und der Vortrag über

die berühmtesten Sehenswürdigkeiten Keralas

lieferten den Besuchern willkommene Informationen

historischer und allgemeiner Art.




Der True Way Trust (TWT) e.V. lieferte den

Besuchern der Veranstaltung auch eine Möglichkeit

die verschiedenen Projekte der Vivegamgodfrey-

Organisation zu entdecken.

Es war eine große Ehre und Freude für die Mitglieder

des TWT in Leipzig ein solches einzigartiges Fest für

die Deutschen und die internationalen Einwohner

Leipzigs organisieren zu können/ zu dürfen.
