South East Cornerstone SD#209 The Panther Principal’s Message Core values. On the day of the American presidential election, and just a couple of days before Remembrance Day, I think it is good to stop and reflect on our core values. What do we stand for? What characteristics do we value the most? And how can we bring the best out in people? At Arcola School last year, we spent some time discussing these questions and we came up with a fairly simple statement: “Because we are a community, here, at Arcola School . . . we are respectful, we are responsible, and we strive for excellence.” These statements reflect our core values and how we want to go about building our reputation. We want Arcola School to be known as a school that is respectful of others, and also as a place where people are responsible and always striving to do their best. And we want to do all of this in the context of the school community that we are. As in any community there will be different perspectives on things, but my hope is that we can value the freedoms that others have fought for and continue to dialogue with each other in ways that are appropriate and respectful. On this Remembrance Day I hope that you and your family can take a moment to remember and to be grateful for the freedoms that we have today. Ron Wardrope Principal

What are peanut butter substitutes? Peanut butter substitutes are spread that are peanut and tree-nut free but look and taste like peanut butter. They are made from roasted soybeans, brown peas, sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds. Examples include soy nut, pea and sunflower seed butters.
