Authentication
Subscription resources require authentication to search
•Authentication for MetaLib may be different than usual•Z39 and XML gateways can require username/password•IP registration = IP of MetaLib server, not user terminal
•Subscription resources may search “new” locations
•Z39 = searches Z39 server (not web)
•WEBCONFIG_XML = searches XML gateway (not homepage)
•“Free” MetaLib resources do not require authentication
•IP authentication may be needed to reach full text

Updating ResourcesTroubleshooting Non-Working ResourcesCase One: It Never Worked.
• Do other things from this vendor work? • Is your password correct?• Did you register your IP for federated search access?• Did you double-check the IRD?• Have you read the Configuration Notes?
Contact SDLN, the vendor

Updating ResoucesTroubleshooting Non-Working ResourcesCase Two: It Used to Work. It Stopped.
• Has anything else stopped working? • Have you run a CKB Update?• Have you made the “Manual changes needed”? • Has your subscription lapsed?• Did you change your firewall?
