Day 1 - Sunday, Jan 26 Arrive in Cape Town Welcome to South Africa! Check into your hotel and prepare for a fascinating journey.

Day 2 - Monday, Jan 27 Cape Town� is morning, sightseeing starts at the Grand Parade, the city’s main public square, to see the Castle of Good Hope and City Hall. A� erward, a walking tour introduces you to more of Cape Town’s famous and historic landmarks. Stroll along Government Avenue to see St. George’s Cathedral, Parliament, and much more. Next, you’ll enter � e Company’s Garden, a beautiful oasis in the city, en route to Green Market Square. Today, it is a great meeting place, where curios from all over Africa can be found. Visit the Bo-Kaap Museum before continuing your walk in Bo-Kaap, also known as the Malay Quarter. Founded by former slaves in the 1750s, this lively area is a true melting

pot of cultures. Colorful historic houses range from lime-green and pink to orange, re� ecting Dutch and British architecture, and the area has been declared a national monument. A� er a traditional Malay lunch, visit Table Mounain for a Cable-Car Ride to the top (weather permitting) for stunning views of the city and its surroundings. � is evening, join your traveling companions for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Day 3 - Tuesday, Jan 28 Cape Peninsula ExcursionToday, enjoy a full day of sightseeing, starting with an orientation tour of Cape Town. � en, take a scenic drive south through the � shing village of Hout Bay before ascending Chapman’s Peak Drive, which skirts the rocky coastline and is one of the most scenic drives in the world. Continue on to Cape Point Nature Reserve for stops at the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point, the southwesternmost point on the African continent. Here, take a Funicular Ride to the steps of the old

lighthouse for spectacular panoramic views. A� erwards, visit Boulders Beach to see a colony of endangered African penguins, known for the unique sound they make. Return to Cape Town and enjoy the evening at your leisure. (B, L)

Day 4 - Wednesday, Jan 29 Day at LeisureEnjoy a full day at leisure for your own discoveries. Perhaps explore the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, take an optional excursion to the stunning Cape winelands for wine tasting, or cruise to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela spent 18 of his 27 years in prison, for a guided tour. � is will be another great day! Day 6 & 7 - Friday, Jan 31 - Saturday Feb 1 Game ReserveEach morning rise between 5am and 5:30am for co� ee and tea before the early morning game drive. Besides the ‘Big 5’, be on the lookout for impala, gira� e, hippo, cheetah (look fast), spotted hyena, wildebeest and more. Great bird watching is also a plus with over 350 species living in the area. Return for breakfast mid-morning, followed by time to relax and enjoy the lodge or join the Ranger for a Bush Walk. Mid-a� ernoon we will head out for another game drive. Step out of your safari vehicle for sundowner drinks and watch as the sun sets over the Drakensberg Mountains. As darkness settles, the tracker will bring out a

spotlight to help spot nocturnal animals. Return to the lodge in time to freshen up before dinner. (B, L, D)

Day 8 - Sunday, Feb 2-Game Reserve and JohannesburgEnjoy one last game drive this morning before transferring to the airport for the � ight to Johannesburg. � e remainder of the day is at leisure. (B)

Day 9 - Monday, Feb 3-JohannesburgToday’s sightseeing includes a visit to Soweto township which is home to the historic houses of two Nobel Peace Prize winners: Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Nelson Mandela. Also scheduled is an unforgettable visit to the Apartheid Museum to learn about the founding of South Africa. � e museum takes you on an extraordinary journey through the apartheid years to the 1994 democratic elections that named Nelson Mandela president. Day 10 - Tuesday, Feb 4-Today we leave South Africa and � y north to Zimbabwe. � is evening, cruise on the Zambezi River and enjoy a spectacular African sunset. (B, D)

Day 11 - Wednesday, Feb 5-Victoria FallsA visit to mighty Victoria Falls is on the agenda for today. Victoria Falls is approximately twice as high and twice as wide as our mighty Niagara Falls…so it is quite a sight to see. We will enjoy a guided walk as we learn the history of the falls and identify the � ora and fauna that grow in its shadows. � is evening enjoy a special riverside farewell dinner. (B, D)

Day 12 - � ursday, Feb 6-Victoria Falls –Johannesburg-Homebound FlightYour tour ends with a � ight back to Johannesburg to connect with your homebound � ight back to the States. (B)

No inoculations are required for this program but please check the cdc.gov website for further travel/health information. Details of medical requirements and suggestions will be advised in late summer 2019.

Documentation: A valid passport (not to expire prior to September 1, 2020) is required. No visa for South Africa is required at this time. Visa is required for Zimbabwe but will be obtained on entry into Victoria Falls. Visa fee not included (approx $30). Passports must have at least 2 blank pages prior to departure (we recommend at least 4). A copy of your passport should accompany your Reservation Form and deposit.
