Songdo IBD is surrounded by well-developed efficient transportation systems and infrastructure. Central and Incheon governments have spent over US$10 Billion to date for the Greater Songdo area infrastructure including the airport, bridge, reclamation works, subways, roads, and utilities Significant infrastructure investments include a

7.6 mile (US$1.4 Billion) Incheon Bridge, completed in 2009, connecting Songdo IBD to Incheon International Airport

Incheon Subway Line 1 will link major business and residential areas of the Seoul Metropolitan areas such as Yeouido, Jongro, and Gangnam

Major highways including Young-dong Expressway and 3rd Kyungin Expressway will also provide convenient access to Songdo IBD and other major highways

Construction of 163.7mile 2nd Outer Beltway is expected to complete in 2020, connecting Songdo IBD with the Greater Seoul Area, which includes Paju, Yangpyeong, and Dongtan

Construction of Great Train Express (GTX) is expected to commence in 2013, with target completion year in 2016 – upon completion, GTX will provide direct connectivity (25 minutes) from Seoul Cheongryang-ri to Songdo

Water Consumption & Re-use

• Central park canal uses seawater instead of fresh water, saving thousands of liters of potable water per day

• Potable water use will target a 90% reduction versus international baseline (re-use of treated greywater from a city-wide central system).

• Potable water consumption in plumbing fixtures will target a 20-40% reduction based on the use type of the project.

• Storm water runoff will be reused

• Vegetated green roofs will reduce storm water runoff, and mitigate the urban heat island effect
