The Author´s Biography

Name: Emily GiffinBorn in: Baltimore, Maryland (1972)

She is: An american author of several novels categorized as chick lit (comedy novel especiallyfor womans)

After law school she moved to Manhattan and after living there for a few years she decided to move to London and began writing full-time.

Her first novel was rejected by eight publishers, so she began a new novel (Rolling the Dice) which became Something Borrowed, a bestseller book.

She married in 2002 and a year after she gave birth to identical twin boys, Edward and George. Harriet, her daughter, was born on 2007.

The Book

The novel centers arround a woman, Rachel White, who turns 30 and is still single. She and her best friend Darcy have known each other since childhood. After a night of drinking on Rachel´s thritieth birthday, something goes on between her and Darcy´s boyfriend. After this turns into an affair and Rachel explores what friendship is suposed to be and also true love.

Recomendation I recomend this novel especially to the girls as its a chick lit book, because

it´s about the values of friendship and especially as its a comedy it has very funny parts. I think girls who like love story´s would like to read this book because of that.

Also, I love the way the author describes every moment as if it was important and then you realice it wasn´t that much.

The Film Director Director: Luke Greenfield

Greenfield wanted to be a film director since the age of ten after he was given a super 8 camera. He made film throughout the years and attended to the School of Cinematic Arts.

When he was 13 his mother wrote a letter to Steven Spielberg, with it she attached Luke´s films and asked Spielberg “Does my son have what it takes to make it?” Steven wrote back and encouraged Luke to go to film school.
