Be SAE Compliant. Stay Safe.Data shows that ambulance transport carries a higher risk of injury than other industries.*

This inspired a team of industry and federal partners, including NIOSH, NIST, and DHS, to develop new ambulance safety standards. The result is new recommended practices from the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) for testing the crash worthiness of ambulance cots (SAE J3027) and ambulance equipment (SAE J3043). SAE’s guidelines specify the equipment design parameters for occupants to survive a 30 MPH vehicle crash (the equivalent of a 22.5g forward impact and 26g side impact).

Ferno’s iN∫LINE Cot Fastener System has been dynamically tested and is fully compliant with new standards and SAE ambulance safety requirements.†

After more than four years of testing and research, the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) has published their “Recommended Practice” concerning the forces that an ambulance cot, fastening system and patient restraints withstand in a 30 mile-per-hour crash. These requirements will be adopted into new standards, including GSA KKK-A-1822F and NFPA-1917. Traditional “Antler and Rail” fastening systems will NOT meet these new requirements.

Proactive Maintenance A regular Proactive Maintenance (PM) schedule ensures your Ferno products are in safe, working order and can extend the service life of your equipment and lower your total cost of ownership. Ferno offers two options for both proactive maintenance on cots, chairs, and fasteners and unscheduled maintenance.

Ferno Cot Care® Our Cot Care program provides agencies with comprehensive training for self-service maintenance of Ferno ambulance cots, stair chairs, and other select equipment. The Cot Care program features a three-day repair program, or one-day maintenance program that certifies staff to perform maintenance for their agency. The courses can be held at our place or yours!

EMSAR Preventative maintenance, maintenance service, and repair service is available nationwide through EMSAR, Ferno’s authorized service provider. Skilled EMSAR service technicians are available in your area and come to you, eliminating any hassle and minimizing downtime.

Product Training & ImplementationFerno has a dedicated network of trainers who work in EMS and are fully equipped to provide on-site in- service training on the iN∫X and other select platforms. There is no cost, and training is scheduled in conjunction with delivery of your order.

Ferno also has implementation specialists who can work with you and your team to optimize solutions like ACETECH and iN∫TRAXX and maximize the safety, efficiency, and performance of your teams when using these solutions.

Standard Limited WarrantyFerno cots, chairs, fasteners, and iN∫TRAXX components come with a standard two-year limited warranty (all products sold new). Our external finishes and soft goods (mattresses) are warranted for 90 days.

All repairs are warranted for 90 days from date of repair and do not include shipping charges. Ferno retains the option to repair, replace, or refund.
