2 PLY 150

The 2 (two) ply version is made up of two seventy-five pound plies of white polyester with an overall tension rating of 150 pounds per inch width, (PIW). It has a one eight inch of bright blue stripe every eight inches across the width for identification purposes. This 2 (two) ply belt can be used to replace current 3 ply cotton hot stock and water belt that has an overall all tension rating of 135 pounds per inch width, (PIW). Both belts have a thickness of 1/8”.

3 PLY 225

The 3 (three) ply version is made up of 3 seventy-five pound plies of white polyester with an overall tension rating of 225 pound per inch width, (PIW). It also has a one eight inch of bright blue stripe every eight inches across the width for identification purposes. This 3 (three) ply belt can be used to replace current 4 (four) ply cotton hot stock and water belt that has an overall tension rating of 180 pounds per inch width (PIW). Both belts have a thickness of 3/16”.

The special blue stripped polyester compound with its higher tension ratings virtually eliminates stretching of conveyor belts. The blue striped polyester compound is also more resistant to knife cuts that current cotton hot stock and water cover.

In a majority of applications the 2 ply Blue Striped Polyester Polypreme can be used in place of the older style 3 ply cotton belt. If a more durable belt is needed for knife applications, extruder takeaway or curing press transfer lines, we would recommend the 3 ply Blue Striped Polyester.

Feature and Benefits:

• Can be used on 80% of the conveyors in a tire plant

• Available in 2 and 3 ply constructions

• Special Blue Stripe Polyester top cover is more resistant to knife cuts

PVC Interwoven 150# Black PVC Cover One Side (COS)

Elastomer Thermoplastic Monofilament Belting

Cover coatings are mainly made of thermoplastic materials like TPU, TPO, PVC, etc.,and elastomer-like rubbers, PUR, etc. – or feature a fabric cover. The running side is usually a fabric, often impregnated with a thermoplastic material, or with special wear-resistant PUR that provides a low and constant coefficient of friction. There are also pulley-side fabrics that feature special low-noise running capabilities.

Lewis-Goetz offers a multitude of these belts to fit each specific application in a tire plant.

LinersLewis-Goetz Tread Liner XLPMFAS

A multitude of special monofilament yarns are fabricated together to provide cross rigidity throughout the product which provides extra support for each layer of tread stock. Its textured surface also provides excellent release of the rubber stock. Lewis-Goetz can fabricate to any dimension and attach Velcro trailing ends for ease of installation during the production process.

Lewis-Goetz Sidewall Liner HDPEPPPVA

Available in High Density Polyethylene, Polypropylene, and Poly Vinyl Alcohol these products offer excellent crease resistance, non-fraying edges, low elongation, and good release of the sidewall stock. Different thicknesses and tensile strengths provide the right product for your specific application. Available in a multitude of colors for stock color coding throughout the plant.

Standard range of belt widths b0

Real belt widths are in most cases 0.1% to 0.3% smaller.

For Polypropylene (PP) material up to 750 mm (30”) -2 mm to 1 mm and -0.4% to 0.1% for wider belts.

For Acetal (POM) material up to 750 mm (30”) -3 mm to 0 mm and -0.4% to 0.1% for wider belts.

Standard belt widths in increments of 50 mm (2”). Non-standard widths are offered in increments of 16.66 mm (0.66”), minimum indent 33.3 mm (1.5”).

The nominal tensile strength is valid for 23 °C (73 °F). The admissible tensile force depends on the operating temperature near the drive sprockets. Within the temperature range allowed, the admissible tensile force may vary from 100% to 20% of the nominal tensile strength. For detailed information and correct calculation of effective tensile force contact your local Lewis-Goetz representative.

Thermoplastic Polyuerethane Timing Belts

Open-ended and truly endless timing belts are utilized in numerous industries, including the tire industry. They are the perfect choice for situations in which traditional belt designs will not provide ideal synchronization. Synchronization is achieved by meshing the belt teeth into a similar-pitch pulley. Belts are available in metric and imperial pitches. Joining of the belts can be achieved with finger punch joining, mechanical clamps, or the patent-pending Hinge-Joint.

Synthetic Fiber

With an array of sizes and styles of synthetic yarn braid packing, Lewis-Goetz carries varieties lubricated with graphite, fluoropolymer, petrolatum and other different oils designed for your specific application. Synthetic fiber packing is used in pumps and valves for general service oil, water and chemicals. Products in this category are suitable for temperatures ranging from -32°F to 500°F, chemical service from 2-12 ph and shaft speeds up to 3,000 fpm.

Carbon/Graphite Fiber

Lewis-Goetz stocks a large selection of carbon and graphite yarn braided packing which is used primarily in more harsh and demanding applications like high temperature steam, hydrocarbon service in industries like power, refining, pulp & paper and refining. Products in this category are suitable for temperatures ranging from -32°F to 1,200°F, chemical service from 0-14 ph (except for strong oxidizing media applications) and shaft speeds up to 4,000 fpm.

Flexible Graphite

With a full range of sizes, Lewis-Goetz provides a variety of flexible graphite braided packing necessary for high-temperature and high-pressure applications where fire safety and tight sealing is required. Products in this category are suitable for temperatures ranging from 1,200°F, ph ranges of 0-14 (except for strong oxidizing media applications) and pressures up to 4,000 psi and shaft speeds up to 4,000 fpm.

Fluoropolymer

Used in harsh chemical and food applications, Lewis-Goetz has a wide selection of fluoropolymer braided packing sizes. Its ability to resist chemical degradation and contamination in food applications makes it a versatile product for the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries. Products in this category are suitable for temperatures ranging from -400°F to 500°F, chemical service from 0-14 ph and shaft speeds up to 1,500 fpm.

Kevlar®

Lewis-Goetz carries a variety of sizes of Kevlar® (also called aramid) braided packing, which is a DuPont product that thrives in harsh abrasive type applications. It can be combined with other packing yarns that create better sealing and less shaft wear. Although used in many industries, the power, steel, quarry and waste water industries are where you will find the majority of Kevlar® based packing. Products in this category are suitable for temperatures ranging from -200°F and 500°F, chemical service from 4-12 ph and shaft speeds up to 2,000 fpm.

Die-Formed Rings

Combined with braided end rings to prevent product migration, Lewis-Goetz’s die-formed rings come in a variety of sizes both in flat and “cup and cone” designs. Die-formed rings are typically used in valves where the most strict leakage control is demanded, high-pressure and high-temperature conditions are present and in pumps where a virtual leak free seal is required. They are typically found in the power and refining industries although not limited to. Products in this category are suitable for temperatures between 1,200°F in saturated steam (900°F in oxidizing atmosphere), chemical service from 0-14 ph (except strong oxidizers) and shaft speeds up to 4,000 fpm.
