District Collector’s Visit
The District Collector of Ramanathapuram, Shri.K.Veera Raghava Rao visited Agni Theertham,
Amma Mess and Bus Stand to monitor the Covid-19 emergency work on 07th April. During the
visit, he provided lunch to the destitutes. On 23rd April, The District Collector coducted an
official meeting at Guest House involving government officials.
During the visits, 36 Green Friends were engaged in street cleaning activity covering all main
roads, Agni Theertham, near Amma Mess and Bus Stand.
Disinfection work
To tackle the Covid-19 virus, disinfection works were condcuted in the Municipality area
throughout the month of April.
Disinfectant was sprayed using hand spraying and machines spraying fixed to a Light
Commercial Vehicle (LCV) in and around religious places, schools and government institutions,
as well as main roads and inner streets. Two LCVs and eight Green Friends were engaged in this
work.
Bleach powder was applied along the main roads, inner streets and around dumper bins placed
in the entire Municpality. One LCV and one Battery Operated Vehicle (BOV) were engaged with
six Green Friends for the entire month in this work.
Circles for Social Distancing
As per instructions, eight Green Friends were engaged in drawing circles to maintain social
distancing of 1 meter at public places like markets, ration shops, commercial estabishments,
banks, etc. The activity was conducted throughout the entire month.
Stickers for Quarantined Households
HHIDS Staff were engaged from 01-07 April to paste stickers to Covid-19 quarantined
households in Ward no: 10.
Public Awareness through Audio Campaign
During 01-13 April, HHIDS staff engaged in awareness activity through audio campaign and
pamphlet distribution, sharing Covid-19 related information in the entire Municipality.
Support to Fire Service Personnel
In coordination with the fire service personnel, five Green Friends were engaged in Covid-19
response activities in the Municipality throughout the month. The activites covered the
Government Hospital, Govt. Offices, Police Station Markets and main roads.
