- Our technology -

Parabolic trough collector operation principle:

• A parabolic collector uses just the direct incident radiation.

• The incident radiation is focused onto an absorber tube in order toheat the thermal medium circulating through it.

InSun is a research project co-funded by the European Commission under the 7th Framework Program: ENER/FP7/296009/InSun. Solera GmbH 2015- All rights reserved

• It follows the sun thanks to its single axle.

INDUSTRIAL WORKSHOP ON SOLAR PROCESS HEAT- InSun Project -

• Main expected results:

1. 219,46 kWh/m2a annual collector useful heat

2. 190,93 kWh/m2a annual solar heat supplied to the process

3. The use of parabolic trough collectors will save 2.856 l of heating oil per year,

INDUSTRIAL WORKSHOP ON SOLAR PROCESS HEAT- InSun Project -

1. Constant and fluid communication with suppliers and with theresponsible persons involved in the installation is required whenhaving short period for planning and installing.

2. Take into account the necessity of space for components

LESSONS LEARNED DURING THE PLANNING AND INSTALLATION

3. Setting parabolic collectors in free land areas can be challenging. It is reallyimportant to fix them in an specific position. With this same regard, the foundationof the buffer has to be perfectly plumbed and with no slope.

4. Soil´s type and its characteristics are a key point when deciding how to fastencollectors on free land.

5. Take into account pressures and temperatures of old and new system, to plana smooth integration and to have an efficient and simple to maintain system.

6. All hydraulic system which should be combined in the future have to be put intothe planning at the very beginning, in order to facilitate the installation.
