1. Remove the SD card from your vehicle. Note: you must use the SD card that comes with your vehicle.

2. Insert the SD card into your computer using an SD card writer (approx. value $20). Alternatively, you can use a computer rental station at Staples, UPS or FedEx. Check local stores for availability and rates.

3. Go to HyundaiSoftwareUpgrade.ca and enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

4. Make sure you read and check all the boxes before clicking “Verify”.

5. Once your VIN is verified, your computer will download a run file.

6. Run the file and downloading will begin. When downloading is complete, you are ready to install the upgrade to your vehicle.

Please follow the below instructions to upload the software upgrade to your vehicle. If you are having trouble, contact us at hyundaicanada.com for assistance.

1. In a well-ventilated area, start your car’s engine.

2. Take the SD card with your software upgrade on it and plug it into the SD card slot.

3. Press the Setup button or press Setup on your touchscreen.

4. Go to System Info.

5. Check the current software version, and confirm that the software update is necessary for your vehicle. If your vehicle requires a software update, press Update.

6. The update can take up to 1 hour. Please make sure the vehicle is parked in a well-ventilated area with the ignition on.

7. During the update, the unit will automatically reboot three times.

If an error code appears, do not remove the SD card or turn off the ignition. Press the reset button with a thin object to continue the update.

8. Once the software update is complete, a confirmation screen will appear.

9. Check the updated software version.

10. Turn off the ignition to finish the software update. The SD card should remain in your vehicle.
