1 Object

This document is the procedure to follow in order to upgrade SeapiX software from Basil_E version to Basil_H

version. Extreme caution is required to succeed and avoid permanent damage to the system. The upgrade

shall be done by following the below procedures (same order). Before upgrading the system, please contact

iXBlue to check compatibility and receive all the upgrade pack.

4 Upgrade Procedures

The Basil_H upgrade consists in:

• BFU:

o Debian Linux OS update (Stretch 9.9.0)

o IXV software update (ixv-3.0.h-2139-stretch-amd64)

o New Web GUI software (seapix-web 1.0.14)

o New Record/Replay software (SeaNotify 1.0.2)

• VPU

o Surface Software Update (Setup_SeapiX_V8.6.4.16)

• SAU

o None

4.1 Important considerations

Before starting the upgrade, make sure:

• That you downloaded:

• Rufus software: https://github.com/pbatard/rufus/releases/download/v3.5/rufus-3.5p.exe

• Clonezilla ISO file: https://osdn.net/frs/redir.php?m=rwthaachen&f=clonezilla%2F71030%2Fclonezilla-live-2.6.1-25-amd64.iso

• Tools:

• TeamViewer Host: https://get.teamviewer.com/seapix

• Chrome offline installer: https://secure.ixblue.com/seapix/Tools/ChromeStandaloneSetup64.exe

• [Basil_H Pack]: The SeapiX Basil_H upgrade package: https://secure.ixblue.com/seapix/

• That you can connect to the BFU

• A screen (with DVI cable)

• A keyboard (preferably USB, QWERTY)

• That you can allocate 2 USB sticks

• [USB_1]: One with at least 4 GB free space.

• [USB_2]: One with at least 500MB capacity (the content of this USB stick will be erased during the process).

If any of these elements is missing, please contact iXBlue and do not try to upgrade the

SeapiX software. Download all the necessary files before starting upgrading the system.

The VPU upgrade can be done remotely using TeamViewer©, do not hesitate to contact

iXBlue to plan the remote assistance.

3. Click on Select and choose clonezilla-live-2.6.1-25-amd64.iso you have downloaded and choose

Clonezilla as name of the volume

Make sure the unzipped folder is not adding a folder level i.e BASIL_H-xxxx folder shall not

contain BASIL_H-xxxx folder but directly the different files. This is usually managed by

slecting carefully the extraction folder (you can directly extract in your USB drive root

folder)

3. Copy into [USB_1]:

4.3 BFU upgrade

Tools:

• [USB_1]

• [USB_2]

• Screen

• Keyboard

Process:

1. Make sure the ITU and BFU are turned off

2. Connect the screen and keyboard into the BFU

3. Connect [USB_2] into the BFU

4. Power on the BFU. Clonezilla automatically boots (GNU GRUB window)

If it doesn’t boot on the Clonezilla drive, restart the BFU and press DEL until you access the

BIOS menu where you can define the boot order (put boot #1 for Clonezilla drive)

If the Clonezilla drive is not recognized, use another USB port from BFU

5. Select Clonezilla live (Default settings, …)

If the USB stick is not recognized, try to use another USB port on BFU.

14. Select the USB stick containing the BFU disk image. You should recognize your USB stick name (still

My_Passport in our example)

15. Do not click on Enter at this stage, highlight / Top_directory_in_the_local_device and press Tab key

until you can select , then press Enter.

4.4 VPU upgrade

4.4.1 Surface Software Upgrade

Tools:

1. Connect [USB_1] into the VPU

2. Stop SeapiX software

3. Open a window explorer and go into C:\IXBLUE\SeapiX directory

4. Backup the Settings, Outputs and Data folders located in the C:\IXBLUE\SeapiX directory

5. Delete C:\IXBLUE\SeapiX\Setting and C:\IXBLUE\SeapiX\Outputs directory

6. Copy the Setup_SeapiX_V8.6.4.16.exe file from [USB_1] in C:\IXBLUE\SeapiX directory

7. Run the Setup_SeapiX_V8.6.4.16.exe file

8. Select your installation language (does not have any effect on the SeapiX software language)

We recommend to use Chrome Browser to access the SeapiX web interface (192.168.16.9:8989)

1. Start the BFU and make sure the ITU starts (if not check the command link cable and connection)

2. Start the VPU and run the SeapiX Surface Software

3. If the Start button is blue, you are ready to run BASIL_H software, enjoy!

4. To use SeaNotify, click on SeaNotify icon from VPU desktop
