SOCIETY FOR THE STUDY OF REPRODUCTION

Pathways to Discovery: Signals for Reproduction, Development & Longevity

51st Annual Meeting | 10-13 July, 2018

The Society for the Study of Reproduction (SSR) is the leading international scientific society that promotes the integration of basic, applied, and translational research in reproductive biology by fostering interdisciplinary communication between scientists across more than 30 countries. SSR prides itself as a “mentoring society” by encouraging and fostering the participation of students who will become the next generation of scientists and physicians. Each year, the SSR Annual Meeting serves as the premier venue to communicate new knowledge and solutions that address worldwide problems such as infertility in humans, pregnancy risk, contraception, healthy reproduction in domestic and wild animal species, and environmental impacts on reproductive health.

Plenary Talks (e.g., President’s Symposium, State-of-the-Art lectures) provide cornerstones for the meeting.

The popular Heritage Lecture links early research efforts and conclusions to contemporary findings, thus emphasizing the continuum common to all scientific inquiry.

Exchange Lectures are delivered by outstanding researchers in the basic and clinical sciences, selected by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the Society for Reproductive Investigation (SRI), the Society for Reproduction and Fertility (SRF), and the Society for Reproductive Biology (SRB). This exemplifies SSR’s commitment to maintain strong bonds with sister societies.

The Diversity Lecture, organized by the SSR’s Diversity Committee, showcases compelling research by minority researchers and clinicians in academia and industry. This lecture is a significant and popular component of the meeting.

Concurrent Focus Sessions add significant vitality to the meeting, allowing attendees to choose from a range of provocative topics. Focus Sessions include 2 invited talks, short talks selected from abstract submissions, and flash talks, providing prominent visibility for trainee and early-stage investigator presenters.

Trainee Award Competitions take place in oral presentation and poster categories. Abstracts from trainees competing for Trainee Research Awards and Merit Fellowships are also reviewed by the Awards Committee.

John S. Davis, PhDPresident (2017- 2018)
