INTRODUCTION
Competition Within and Between Social Groups: Feedback
While the competition in the video is healthy competition, not all competitive endeavours are like that. It is also rule bound and fair competition; It often helps when there are rules and officials governing the competition within and between groups.
It is important to the competitors as it affects them and their countries. The competition is an opportunity to build a good reputation and renown, engender national pride and a sense of accomplishment. Importantly, it forces members of the group to cooperate.
Competition involves contest, striving against ones counterparts to achieve a common goal.

INTRODUCTION
Resolving Conflicts Within and Among Social Groups: Feedback
Methods of conflict resolution include:
1.Negotiation 2.Mediation 3.Diplomacy 4.Compromise
Note that all the methods involve communication with the parties involved in the conflict. Very often, concessions have to be made between the conflicting parties; and this may have to be facilitated by a mediator. Within a social group, this person can be a group leader or any objective rational member of the group.
Between social groups, sometimes an official mediator exists such as an external board (IAAF for athletics for example) a trade union or ministry that will intervene.

QUIZ
INTRODUCTION
Compromise - Feedback
Unfortunately, only the cat and dog in picture two have arrived at a true compromise.
A compromise requires that any ambition that is not beneficial to the group is ignored. Also, both or all parties must benefit in ways that are meaningful to them.
In the other pictures, only one party seems to benefit from the decisions made.
A good compromise is one that not only satisfies conflicting parties, but is beneficial to the group or groups as a whole.

END OF QUIZEND OF QUIZ
Envy of group members, though possible, is not a beneficial outcome. It is a
disadvantage. Note though that a smart group leader encourages healthy
competition related to the group’s goals and encourages participation through
rewards. Subgroups within a group also allows more persons to have leadership
roles and others to contribute in meaningful ways to the group.
