Opening Point- Start with quote by Charles Darwin. It is not the strongest of thespecies that survives, nor the most intelligent. It is the one that is the most

    adaptable to change.

    Middle Support Topics:

Past Projects Past projects were overlooked as failures

    a. Counterpoint- As the past has been looked upon as failures, and have yet tobe cleaned, we believe that those mistakes are no longer major issues.

    b. Counterpoint- As we have seen in the past projects, there were failure, andwe accepted and have advance from our mistakes. We have gained the

knowledge from experience to not follow the same mistakes.

Future Environmental issues Forests and Lake Destruction.

    a. Counterpoint- We have conducted researching on the scheduled path andhave analyzed to follow the safest routes for the past 10 years as shown on

our site. We have rerouted around many lakes and rivers, going through

safer paths though mountains. We also have considered cutting down the

amount of an environmental impact on the forests by going through the

mountains.b. Counterpoint- Safety of pipeline damaging causing ruptures has also been

looked over. We have rerouted to prevent as many possible chances of the

pipe being ruptured. We also have looked over natural disaster rates that

    could rupture the pipe.

Long Term Effects- Long term Costs and Job Opportunity

    a. Counterpoint- Looking at costs of up to $1.3 billion is a short term loss. Ifwe look into what we are gaining and how we are advancing, we will end

up with a stronger economy. With the construction time of 3 years, the

return of money overall will be for over 30 years.b. Counterpoint- Many jobs will still be offered from the work that will be

needed. On site work jobs, analysts, engineers will all be needed and still be

given jobs and proper training in order to start work.

    Supporting Defence Opposition:

Aboriginals- Abolishment of Homes and Unmarked Territory

    a. There will be no homes abolished. Aboriginals will also take full active rollsin this job. Based on participation in the towns and the people who want tohelp can participate.

    b. As well as the money. The overall money profit that will come to theaboriginals will be 10% of $5.5 billion of the total profits over the 30 years.

Local Businesses- Local construction firms will have work to be done on site. Local

jobs will be given to both BC workers as well as Albertans.

EnvironmentalistKey point of destroying the environment

    a. Oil has already been shipped between here and Asia for 30 years alreadywithout any leakages. What difference would it make now? Taking down a

few forests will happen eventually but what will you gain. From this project

alone, we are expected to make $5.5 billion in which more than 30% goes

    back to the people.

    b. Considering that we have also made a consolatory effort to go around maareas as much as possible. The return to the country will have a far greater

impact than just having the forest lumber into paper.

    Fisherman- Contaminating the fish

    a. The process of transporting oil has already been proceeding for the past 30years from another dock. The shipping of this oil is now being overworked

because of the chances of past experience. The reason why fisherman dont

want this change is because only of what it could do, not what it is doing.

Ending PointEnd with quote by. Change is the essence of life, be willing to

surrender what you are for, to follow what you could become.
