The occurences of those metaphors are kinda forming a paradigm in my mind. Why would the parents take part to school’s activities? Why does the whole social entities do something for the school? It was a week ago before we started

our internship at TCSHS when the school

celebrated its family day. Nevertheless, the

teachers and students have full of stories

about the said affair;so, I got a bit of

information. They were

very happy indeed. It

seemed that their

parents were very

active, in other words,

participative in all the

games and everything.

Of course, the teachers

were not exempted.

They were subjected to

games too. I also heard that the LGU

provided some tents for the occasion. With all

those stories which are so “nah like” with my

grades school’s family day, I realized that

every school is indeed a miniature

community. It’s a joint production of parents,

teachers, students, the local government, and

other stakeholders. Without them, an

educational institution can never hit the

blockbusters.

The occurences of those metaphors are

kinda forming a paradigm in my mind. Why

would the parents take part to school’s

activities? Why does the whole social entities

do something for the school? Wait a minute,

the answer was already stated. The school is

a society and according to its definition, it

should and must. So whats the reason?

It is their regard on Teaching and

Learning. Like them, a student, and (if

fortunate enough), a future teacher, I

understand why the society put a lot of

weight on every schools hands. Parents will

forever hang on that the future of their

children are on the hands of teachers and

every school personells. So I can say that my

chosen job is very crucial. Think of this, if I

cant make each of my students as successful

as they and their parents want them to be,

they will end up

cursing their

miserable lives. They’ll

be forever condemned

by the society and

worst their ownselves.

Why and how? First,

they wont be able to

have jobs. Second,

they wont be able to

sustain their lives. (I chose not to state the

repercussions of the latter statement because

I know you know them- like becoming a

mendicant.) Third, they wont be able to pay

taxes. With that, the government wont give

them any credits. In short, they would

become futile citizens of the country. To

whom will be the blame?- teachers , but I

know most of you will disagree with me.

Student factor, as the say, can be the

alternative. That’s when learning comes in.

Parents should also understand that

the help they extend to the school and the

enthusiasm they show whenever there are

activties are just extra obligations. What they

are expected to do on the very first place is to

guide their children in their learning and

make an “audit” of how much they have

learned. They must make some sort of

counteractive force that supplements whay

they have done in school but of course in the

same direction. Words of encouragement and

motivation (they mean the same but just to

emphasize), will help a lot. Always remind

them that their presence in school is for them

“I REALIZED THAT EVERY SCHOOL IS

INDEED A MINIATURE COMMUNITY. IT’S A

JOINT PRODUCTION OF PARENTS,

TEACHERS, STUDENTS, THE LOCAL

GOVERNMENT, AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS.

WITHOUT THEM, AN EDUCATIONAL

INSTITUTION CAN NEVER HIT THE

BLOCKBUSTERS.”

to learn and to help themselves achieve their

dreams and aspirations in life. Afterall, the

real community and the school which is its

small counterpart embody the same mission

and vission. All we have to do is to make it

work and let the bond be forever covalent.
