The Samaritans

The starting point of this charity was a telephone installed by a priest in his church in 1953. He publicized that anyone thinking of committing suicide could phone and talk to him.

Nowadays, there are 18,700 Samaritans and over 500 telephone help lines available 24 hours a day , seven days a week.
