• Yik Yak is a social media blog application.• Yik Yak is similar to Twitter, but users are

anonymous.• Users can post anything that anyone near their

current location can read.• Yik Yak brings local talk to you.

• Yik Yak uses your current location (1.5 mile radius).• Users “Yak”, a max. 200-character post.• Those within range can see each other's Yaks.• Yaks can range from local events to funny jokes.

How Does it Work?

• Next to each Yak are up vote or down vote arrows.• Gaining up votes will increase Yakarma.• Gaining down votes will decrease Yakarma.• Users control what’s popular/hot, and vise versa

using these arrows.

• “Yakarma” are the points gained or lost determined by the up vote/down vote arrows.

• A higher Yakarma score means local people agree with and understand your Yaks.

• A higher score in other words, says whether “you get it”.

What is Yakarma?

• Users may also reply to Yaks.• Replies may also get up votes or down votes.• Yaks can also be shared to many different social

media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook.

• Yaks that gain popularity can appear on the “Hot” tab which is renewed with new Yaks daily.

• The “Peek” tab has featured events that users can Yak about.

• Colleges have their own threads that anyone can visit, read and vote upon.
