In an effort to encourage true collaboration, I take the time to add each person who comes to a Meetup to this portfolio. Soon I will add key tags about each member so what they are interested in, looking for, and can offer to others are searchable online.

Some folks didn’t know they needed to join online and just showed up to pitch something or to network which is fine, but if you are one of these people, please take one minute to officially join us or you won’t get your page filled out or regular updates on what the Meetup is doing. http://www.meetup.com/socialentrepreneurs-pdx/

If your page is not accurate or you want to update it, please do so and send it to me: [email protected]

I am very passionate about human potential and creativity. It saddens me that the majority of people, especially young generations, are not tapping into their full potential and therefore are not able to have a clear vision of their real passion. Consequently, their time and resources are not well spent and wasted sometimes into boredom, if not society disservice. Therefore, I tried to focus most of my studies and research toward understanding innovations initiation, human potential, and creativity, and how technology could be employed to advance them in both education and outside.

Find Directors for DoughNation's two services - the core donation appraisal (clothing, furniture, household goods) and the expanded Gentle Disposition service which takes care of the belongings a loved one leaves after a loss - are proven social enterprise business models.

Watch my story told last October Poison into Medicine. If this business model grabs you and you are capable, communicative and collaborative let's talk about possibilities!

CEO, Aquameta. Portland-based software company, whose mission is to empower non-programmers to create software and in doing so open up a new space for creativity and innovation on the planet.

Darwin said that those species that can't adapt to change will eventually die, when rapid change becomes necessary to survival. We as a species have, by embracing software in the way we have, inhibited our capacity to adapt to change. Our dependence on programmers to change the software that runs our world is a ticking time-bomb, a massive liability to our species. Software is the nervous system of our modern-day social organism, and yet most of us can't change it.

Who We Are:We are a social entrepreneurship that facilitates opportunities for individuals

who feel “stuck” in their current life to see and experience other lifestyles focused on social, environmental, and personal well-being. We accomplish this by connecting Americans to host communities abroad that are practicing lifestyles of well-being. In doing so, this opportunity also encourages the protection of these host communities by recognizing the important knowledge and practices inherent in them.

Currently we are looking for Fundraising support, crowd funding, social media, videography and website development. Accounting support- bookkeeping and budgeting, cost analysis and projections. We could also use some advice for setting up a business bank account (credit unions) and phone line, and minor details that could be overlooked.

Traci KindenRevolve Waste

http://www.revolvewaste.com/ @REvolveWaste www.linkedin.com/pub/traci-kinden/10/974/[email protected]

Americans generate 22 billion lbs of fabric waste every year. What most people don't know is that fabric is highly recyclable... only about 5% of what goes into a recycling process is discarded as waste. On top of that, the clothing and fabric industry is riddled with human rights and environmental concerns.

My company sees fabric waste reduction as an opportunity to make positive changes within our community. We are creating a system to recycle more unwanted fabrics, educate apparel industry professionals and the community at large, and create jobs for those who need them most. This work will build a model for regional fabric recycling that can be used across the country and do a whole lot of good. Join the REvolution!

As an expert in sustainable business finance, I assist social entrepreneurs to access capital and get business credit. I specialize in financing energy efficiency, renewable energy, and alternative fuels projects and ventures and in raising equity.

Establish business credit: Need a loan or line of credit? Need working capital? Have you established business credit versus personal credit? Have poor business credit? We're experts in preparing businesses to access capital efficiently. You'll come away with access to $50,000 or more after completing our online tool. It works. It's quick. We'll walk you through the process in a few minutes with an online demo from Commercial Credit Advisors, a Portland firm.

Equipment leasing: if you've been in business at least two years, consider conserving your cash and managing risk with lease financing: no down payment, quick approval, even use tax credits. Merchant advances: if you need working capital and process credit cards, you can qualify for a merchant cash advance from a reputable source.

I care about Two Issues: 1. Sustainability - conserving the earth's resources -based on The Natural Step's 4 System Conditions that are required to sustain life on earth (www.naturalstep.org/the-system-conditions), and 2. Re-building Communities - neighborhood networks, re-skilling, social relations, local food networks, and above all, community businesses that can provide local food, local products, and local services. It was in this spirit that I helped found Transition Initiative PDX. (www.transitionculture. org. and www.transitionus.org) In coaching I prefer to work with entrepreneurs and companies that share my concerns and my sense of urgency.

My highest goal here is to see every enterprise in this group succeed beyond their dreams

My technical background and networking would be helpful for anyone seeking a technical team member for their business. I also have worked in several leadership and logistics positions over the years, so helping people organize and get themselves up and running is what I like to do.

At the moment, I still need help building my network in a broader sense. Having a primarily technical network, I'd love to meet people from other backgrounds. Also, I've recently hit upon a cool new business idea, though it doesn't fall in the realm of social enterprise as I see it.

It's a new technology that uses sound to locate someone/something (like GPS) at a very accurate resolution of about 1cm. I have many ideas for applying this technology to finding items in grocery stores, locating your car in the parking lot and several otherscenarios. I think we could certainly find a socially responsible application of thistechnology and I'd love to brainstorm with more people about it.

Do you already have a social issue you want to address? If yes. please give a brief description.

There isn't a cohesive and comprehensive website featuring reviews of landlords. I think this is a niche that could provide valuable transparent information for prospective tenants. It could also provide an incentive for landlords to not abuse their power and just be kinder. As someone who is sensitive to loud noises, I'd also like to explore ideas for a resource that provides information of noise levels of various places in the city.
