Soccer is one of the most popular sports in the world

It’s definitely a team sport.

Soccer can get very physical sometimes so if you don’t like getting shoved or kicked, you should pick something else.

THE BASICS OF SOCCER:

There are 4 main positions in soccer: goalie, defenders, midfielders, and forwards

There are 4 types of kicks: a goal kick, corner kick, penalty kick, and free kick

This is a normal 4-4-2 with 4 defenders, 4 midfielders, 2 forwards, and a goalie.

CORNER KICKS Corner kicks are

awarded when the ball goes out of the back of the end zone(the blue line), knocked out by the defensive team.

The ball is awarded to the offensive team and they get a free kick at one of the corner flags

1. Place the ball on the ground and make sure it’s still

2. Take a few steps back(3-4). By taking 3 steps back diagonally you will get a harder kick. This is because you will also use your hips to gain more power on the kick.

1. Now, approach the ball from left if you are right footed and vice versa

2. Perform a quick run towards the ball by placing your supporting leg about 5 inches from the ball

3. The direction of the ball will depend primarily on where your supporting leg is pointing. So point your toe toward the direction you want the ball to go.

• Which one you choose depends on what type of kick you want- a low kick, high kick, powerful kick, etc.
