SOBEM was created in 1955 in Dijon, France and started out with the manufacture of circuit-breakers, starters, steel tubes and electrical boards. In 1976, because of a decline in the steel tubing market, it expanded into industrial sheet metal work and from 1971 developed a range of electrical cabinets for construction sites. In 1987, SOBEM experienced strong growth in the sheet metal side of its business. In 1994, it bought EFFEL, a specialist in the manufacture of boxes for the automobile industry. Our continuous investments allowed us to build up a pool of modern and high-performance machines which, combined with a qualified workforce, mean we can offer top quality, innovative and lasting products for sale.

Over the years, SOBEM has continued to develop its product ranges and today offers a complete and diverse range: steel boxes, stainless steel boxes, steel cabinets and cells, polyester boxes, rubber boxes, detachable cells, stainless steel cabinets as well as cabinets and boxes for construction sites, DIN rails and accessories… In addition to our standard products, we can offer specific products tailored to customer requirements. We can manufacture special sizes and colours of boxes and we can also fit them out according to specifications. The design of control consoles is also part of our expertise.

As well as being represented throughout France, we also distribute our equipment all over the world. For export, our products are sold through agents or distributors. Our cabinets and boxes are used in the largest construction sites in both France and abroad: TGV, road and rail tunnels, dams, motorways, nuclear power plants, airports, etc.

SOBEM has several subsidiaries: SOBEM-SCAME (France, sale of electrical equipment – 1997), E-Rail (Chicago, sale of DIN rails in the US – 1999), ATEMIS (France, sheet metal works – 2004), SOBEM-ROMANIA (Bucharest, manufacture and sale of metal cabinets and boxes for Eastern Europe – 2005).

�

sOBem general sales cOnditiOns

these conditions are an integral part of our sales proposals and offers and were approved at the same time as the latter. they can be departed from only by mutual agreement between both parties. all orders imply unconditional acceptance of the following general conditions:

� - agreement - The agreements undertaken by agents and representatives are only valid after written confirmation from us.

2 - timescales - The timescales shown are always for information and do not to commit us, except where there is a special agreement explicitly agreed by us. Any delays in delivery will therefore not result in any penalties, fines, deductions, or damages, especially if this is as a result of an accident or event outside our control.

� - Ownership - upon express agreement and notwithstanding any conflicting clause:

a) we retain ownership of goods and accessories until complete payment, and it is agreed that only the effective cashing of cheques and other items constitutes payment.

b) in all circumstances, retention of goods and risks are transferred to the purchaser, as soon as they leave the factory, warehouse or shop.

c) the purchaser agrees to keep these goods in a manner so that they cannot be confused with others and can be recognised as being our property. it is agreed in all circumstances that goods in the purchaser's premises and also those listed in our dispatch notes or any other documents will be considered as being those supplied by us.

d) the purchaser's payments, irrespective of how he may allocate them subsequently, shall be allocated as a priority, for the application of this clause, to the invoices corresponding to goods that have been used or sold.

e) reserve of ownership shall apply, in relation to unpald invoices, to goods of the same nature still held, irrespective of the delivery date and corresponding invoice.

f) acceptance of delivery implies express acceptance of this clause.

� - technical specifications - Goods are supplied in accordance with our technical specifications. Due to changes in standards and equipment, the characteristics shown in our documents (texts, photos, quotes, etc.) only commit us after confirmation from us.

� - industrial property right - The customer is solely responsible for the specifications that it provides. We will not be held responsible if patents, designs or trade marks are infringed. The customer agrees to cover us for any claims that could be made against us.

6 - equipment - The contribution from customers for tooling creation costs must be paid at ordering. This tooling remains our exclusive property. We will keep it for a minimum of two years from last use.

7 - delivery - Our goods are made available to the purchaser who has the option of performing acceptance without our having to invite him for this purpose.

8 - transport - Our goods are deemed to be taken and approved in the factory. The transport of goods is done at the risk and peril of the purchaser irrespective of the transport conditions in the contract. We will not be held responsible for rust, water damage, twisting or any damage occurring to goods after they have been dispatched or made available. If a fault is found upon receipt, as in the case of any type of damage, it is up to the recipient to make the usual claims within legal timescales with the transporter to avoid any subsequent disagreements and to retain the right to claim against the latter. The customer or its transporter, is completely and exclusively responsible for loading. Consequently, we are not responsible for damage caused both to goods and to the transporter or third parties as a result of defective loading and particularly vehicle overload, fault or insufficient stowing, poor distribution of load and generally any non compliance with road transport regulations.

9 - complaints - All complaints, especially those relating to size, weight, quantities, or obvious quality faults can only be made if done so in writing, within a maximum of two days from the arrival of the goods at the destination and before any installation or transformation is done so long as findings regarding quantities, weight and condition have been the subject of legal reserves with the transporter. Any complaints regarding any supply does not relieve the purchaser of the obligation to pay invoices when they are due. No goods cannot be returned to us without our prior agreement. They must reach us with postage paid and we will only give credit after proper return and verification of new condition. If the response requires technical inspection, we will only proceed with the return on condition of the decision from our technical departments. Should the equipment be in perfect re-use condition, the test costs, re-packaging, and storage are estimated to be 15% of the value of the equipment and will be immediately invoiced to the purchaser. parts no longer listed in our catalogue or customised equipment can never be taken back (non standard).

�0 - responsibility - Our responsibility is expressly limited to the replacement of goods recognised to be defective or the reimbursement of their value, at our choice, excluding all compensation of any sort.

�� - price - prices are exclusive of tax for unpackaged goods leaving the factory. Except if there is a specific agreement, they are based on current economic conditions. Our deliveries are invoiced on the basis of prices on the day of dispatch.

�2 - payment - Except if there is a specific agreement, payments are 30 (thirty) days end of month from dispatch or availability, maximum of 10 (ten) from the following month net without discount. payment conditions cannot be modified by the purchaser. Any changes made by the purchaser to the payment conditions as well as any delay in payment makes payment of any sums due to us immediately and legally required, even if this amount resulted in a bill that was already issued: in this case we reserve the right to legally suspend all current sales without prior warning. All unpaid amounts are legally subject to interest calculated at three times the legal rate. We reserve the possibility to request at any time payment guarantees from the purchaser, failing these guarantees, we shall be relieved of our commitments.

�� - allocation of jurisdiction - Upon express agreement, formally agreed and accepted by our customers and notwithstanding any conflicting clauses, Dijon Tribunal of Commerce is solely competent to rule on all disagreements regarding the interpretation and execution of orders, and contracts, for our supplies and their payment irrespective of the payment location, even in the event of invoking a plurality of defendants.

Glass fibre reinforced polyester is a composite that is very resistant to corrosion and ideally suited to the manufacture of cabinets, cubicles and boxes for applications in industrial environments and in particular electrical environments.

Its specific characteristics make it resistant in saline, urban, sulphur, chlorine and/or chemically aggressive environments.

Polyester cabinets are used in all types of site: pools, garages, fairs, camp sites, ports, washing stations etc.

Its IK10 mechanical protection (see our "PROTECTION LEVEL" table at the end of the catalogue) makes it highly resistant for applications in environments at risk of shock: garages, docks, warehouses, etc.

Excellent resistance against extreme external temperatures: -20°C to +120°C.

These cabinets do not protect against stray HF.
