DELANEY HODGINS became EWU’s all-time leading scorer with 2,120 career points. She set a Big Sky single-game record of 46 points against Northern Arizona and set EWU’s single-season record of 692 points.

CHLOE WILLIAMS became the first player in conference history to win offensive MVP for three-straight seasons. She finishes her career with Big Sky and EWU records in points (109), goals (44) and shots (347) in addition to 21 assists, which is fifth all-time in BSC history.

MEN’S BASKETBALL earned a victory over Stanford and advanced to the championship game of the BSC Tournament. They finished 20-15 overall for its fourth 20-win season in five years and made its fourth-straight appearance in a national postseason tournament.

ALEXIS ROLAN was honored with the Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year award after tabbing two All-Conference performances at the Indoor Championships. She is the first female Eagle to do so in program history.

WOMEN’S TENNIS earned the No. 3 seed at the Big Sky Championships and had four All-Big Sky honors, including the program’s first Co-Freshman of the Year and First-Team Dou-bles selection.

JORDAN DASCALO earned First Team All-Big Sky and was selected to play in the NFLPA Bowl. He also earned FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week and Big Sky Special Teams Player of the week on Nov. 11.

BOGDAN BLIZNYUK was named Big Sky MVP. He scored 2,169 career points to set the conference and EWU’s all-time scoring record. Additionally, he set an NCAA Division I single-season free throw record with 77-straight makes.

WOMEN’S GOLF placed fifth at the Big Sky Conference Championships, led by freshman ALEXA CLARK who tabbed a top-ten finish, tying for seventh overall.

ASHLEY SEILER earned All-Big Sky Second-Team honors after leading the conference with 3.98 kills per set. She is the first Eagle since 2014 to earn All-Big Sky honors, while her kills per set ranks eighth in school history for a single-season.

SCOTT PAZ became the first Eagle to earn three Big Sky Player of the Week awards in one season. JEREMY FIELD earned All-Big Sky Second-Team honors after garnering a 9-2 record in conference play.

WOMEN’S SOCCER won its first regular season title since 2004 and won its second-consecutive Big Sky Tournament Championships to advance to the NCAA Tournament. They had a program record 11-match unbeaten streak, finishing 16-6-1 with a school-record 48 goals.

MEN’S 4X100 clocked a school-record time of 40.39 to bring home the program’s first Big Sky Title in that event at the conference championships. JEREMY VANASSCHE also finished second in the 100-meter dash with a school-record time of 10.29.

ZOEY NELSON earned the program’s first ever Big Sky Co-Freshman of the Year award and was named Singles Second-Team All-Big Sky after garnering a 7-2 record in conference play.

FOOTBALL secured a school-record 11th-straight winning season, finishing 7-4 overall and had 13 players selected to All-Big Sky teams. The Eagles finished the season ranked 17th in the FCS STATS Top-25 Poll.

TRACK AND FIELD took home a total of 19 All-Big Sky Awards between the outdoor and indoor championships, including REBECCA TARBERT who won the first women’s 100-meter dash title since 1994.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL earned a No. 3 seed and a first-round bye at the BSC Tournament. They finished 17-14 for their seventh-straight season with at least 17 victories. EWU is the only Big Sky program with at least 12 conference wins for seven-straight years.

WOMEN’S TRACK AND FIELD earned its 11th-straight USTFCCCA All-Academic team in addition to four individual scholars. WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY also earned a USTFCCA All-Academic award.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL posted the 18th-best GPA in the nation, earning a spot on the WBCA Honor Roll.

MEN’S BASKETBALL earned its fifth-straight NABC recognition and had a Big Sky-best six Eagles on the NABC Honors Court.

WOMEN’S TENNIS earned its second-straight ITA All-Academic Team Award and boasted a Big Sky-best six ITA Scholar-Athletes.

SCHOLAR-ATHLETES OF THE MONTHSPENCER BLACKBURN was named to the NCAA FCS Athletic Directors Academic All-Star team.

DELANEY HODGINS earned CoSIDA Academic All-America Third-Team, CoSIDA Academic All-District VIII and Senior CLASS All-American Second-Team.

GOLF had four Eagles named WGCA All-American Scholars and the team boasted a 3.71 cumulative GPA.

VOLLEYBALL earned its sixth-straight AVCA Team Academic award after boasting a cumulative team GPA of 3.53.

For the third time in four years, Eastern Washington was tabbed the 2017-18 Big Sky Conference Presidents’ Cup winners. The Eagles led the Big Sky with a cumulative GPA of 3.42. Soccer’s conference championship and top-four finishes from football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, women’s tennis, women’s indoor track and field and men’s outdoor track and field helped seal the victory.

On April 25, 2018, LYNN HICKEY was announced as Eastern Washington University’s new Associate Vice President / Director of Athletics. She brings over 18 years of Athletic Director experience to EWU.

A COMBINED 23, 808 HOURS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE

The Eagles combined for 48 All-Big Sky Honors,2 MVP’s, 2 Freshman of the Year Awards

and 23 Big Sky Player of the Week awards during the 2017-18 athletic season.

LESLIE FLORES-CLOUD and SAM READ were hired to lead the Eagle volleyball and cross country teams.

DANTE TYLER was elected and will serve as the Associated Students of EWU President.

BOGDAN BLIZNYUK earned an NBA opportunity with the Clippers. He was selected to play in the Portsmouth Invitational, the Reese’s College All-Star game and earned Honorable mention All-America.

AARON BEST and SHANTAY LEGANS collected winning seasons in their first years at the helm of their respective football (7-4) and basketball (20-15) programs.

THE EAGLES set a school record with an average of 10,123 fans per game in 2017 (50,617 in five games), giving EWU 25 consec-utive sell-outs and 37 total in school history (crowds of 8,600 or more).

DELANEY HODGINS inked a contract to play overseas for the Espoo Basket Team in Finland. She was also selected as EWU’s NCAA Woman of the Year nominee.

GAGE GUBRUD was a Walter Payton Award Finalist. He was named FCS Offensive Player of the Week and honorable mention FCS Performer of the Week twice, honorable mention FCS Performer.

WOMEN’S TENNIS and WOMEN’S BASKETBALL earned an NCAA Academic Progress Rate Recognition Award after finishing in the top-10 percent of their respective sports.
