    Sheridan County snowpack data as of March 1st show increased snow water in the Tongue River drainage overFebruary 1st while the Clear Creek drainage data shows slightly lower snow water than last month. The Tongue Riverdrainage is at 86% of the 30 year median for March 1stwhich includes both manual snow courses and Snotel remotesite data. The manual snow courses and Snotel remote site data in the Clear Creek drainage indicate the basin is alsoat 86% of the 30 year median. The manual snow courses pulled the averages lower this month; with the Snotel dataalone indicating the Tongue River drainage at 89% of median and the Clear Creek drainage at 96% of 30 year median.

    Total precipitation at the Tongue River Snotel sites is at 83% of average and the Powder River drainage Snotel sitesare at 100% of average precipitation for the 2013 water year thus far.

    State-wide snow water averages are mixed since last months report. The eastern basins in the State have risen, while

    the western drainages have fallen back in their percent of median. The Powder River drainage is the highest in theState at 100% of median, while the rest of the northern basins are within 10% of median for this time of year. Themajority of the southern basins are 75-85% of median while the Lower North Platte River drainage remains the lowestin the State at 66% of median, though the drainage shows a substantial increase over last months 28%.

    Snotel remote data collectors are permanent sites that transmit real-time snow water content and precipitation datathrough a west-wide computer network. Daily data from these sites, as well as other water supply related reports andproducts can be accessed through theWater link on the Wyoming NRCS Homepage atwww.wy.nrcs.usda.gov.
