WOMEN’S DAY
Achieving a gender-equal world requires social innovations that work for both women and men and
leave no one behind. From urban planning that focuses on community safety to e-learning platforms that
take classrooms to women and girls, affordable and quality childcare centres, and technology shaped by
women, innovation can take the race for gender equality to its finishing line by 2030
SANKRANTI SAMBARALU
The cultural council of “VSM college of institution” organized the
“SANKRANTI SAMBARALU on 10th JAN 2020. Sankranthi is a festival day in the
Hindu calendar, dedicated to the deitysurya.
Students were taken to the college ground and they had an exciting time to participating
in the kite flying activity and women drawing rangoli and traditional dress competitions
along with their class mates. A special assembly was organized to mark the occasion.
Students were told about the importance of sankranthi, the students performed vibrant and
energetic sankranthi dance, sing songs and share warmth with loved ones.
KALARI PATTU
The holistic approach of the kalaripayattu training is aimed at the ultimate coordination and control
over mind and body. The weapons become an extension of the body, controlled by the mind to achieve high
degree of perfection in both offensive and defensive combats. The inherent beauty of this art form lies in the
harmonious synergy of art, science and medicine.
Anyone and everyone - young, old, boys, girls, working professionals, house wives – can reap the
benefits of this rich and treasured martial art. In fact, more than one third of our students are girls. Apart
from mastering the intricate fighting & self defense techniques, dedicated and systematic training program
at the academy helps in building a strong body and focused mind. The flexible program schedule is
specially designed to suit the rigors & pressures of your daily life without compromising the ‘essence’ of
training techniques as practiced in the traditional ‘Kalaries.
Road safety programme
Road safety program conducted by police department at our college premises on 16-09-2019 All the
students participate in this program.Road traffic safety refers to the methods and measures used to
prevent road users from being killed or seriously injured. Typical road users include: pedestrians, cyclists,
motorists, vehicle passengers, horse-riders and passengers of on-road public transport (mainly buses and
trams)
ANTI-RAGGING AWARENESS
An Anti-ragging awareness program was conducted in the College on 13/08/2019, in
VISWESWARAYYA SEMINAR HALL. The agenda of the meeting was to discuss about the
activities to conducted form Anti-ragging committee for the academic year 2019-2020.This meeting
was started at 10:30 am by lightening the lamp.C.I Mr SIVA KRISHANA, Ramachandrapuram attended
to this meeting as chief guest to create awareness to the students about Ragging related
consequences.Short films & slogans related to anti-ragging were displayed in the LED wall.Posters of
Anti-ragging slogans were displayed in different places in the College campus.The student council
members were asked to report immediately in case of incidents of ragging. No ragging complaints
were received for this academic year. A healthy and friendly relationship exists between the Freshers
& Seniors.
2018-2019
NATIONAL GIRLS DAY
The National Girl Day is celebrated in India every year on January 24. It was started by
the Ministry of Women and Child Development and the Government of India in 2008, with the purpose to
spread awareness among people about all the inequalities girls face in the Indian society. The day is
celebrated by organizing various programs including awareness campaigns on Save the girl child, child sex
ratios, and creating a healthy and safe environment for a girl child.
KISHORI VIKASAM PHASE-2
The Women Development and Child Welfare (WD&CW) Department is conducting a mega training
programme for adolescent girls on personality development, health, education, literacy and other topics.As
much as girls will be trained in a phased manner under the ‘Kishori Vikasam’ programme Resource persons
will educate the ToTs on different topics, who will enlighten the girls in different government schools,
hostels and private institutions. The theme is awareness creation among the girl students on various social,
health and skill development issues.
“The ToTs are being taught on the social media advantages and disadvantages, education, child
marriages, trafficking, sexual harassment, health, personality development, skill development, nutrition,
hygiene and other topics. Officers of various government departments, NGOs, academicians, police and
experts in the related fields will train the students,” .
The trained students will cover the Social Welfare Hostels, BC, SC and ST Hostels, Kasturba
Gandhi Balika Vidyalayams, Gurukula Pathasalas, Government and Zilla Parishad Schools and private
educational institutions.

ROAD SAFETY PROGRAMME
The basic strategy of a Safe System approach is to ensure that in the event of a crash, the impact
energies remain below the threshold likely to produce either death or serious injury. This threshold will vary
from crash scenario to crash scenario, depending upon the level of protection offered to the road users
involved. For example, the chances of survival for an unprotected pedestrian hit by a vehicle diminish
rapidly at speeds greater than 30 km/h, whereas for a properly restrained motor vehicle occupant the critical
impact speed is 50 km/h (for side impact crashes) and 70 km/h (for head-on crashes)
ANTI DRUG EVENT
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) selects themes for the International Day and launches campaigns to raise awareness about the global drug problem. Health is the ongoing theme of
the world drug campaign
The United Nations General Assembly in 1987 decided to observe 26 June as the International Day
against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking as an expression of its determination to strengthen action and
cooperation to achieve the goal of an international society free of drug abuse.

An Anti-ragging awareness program was conducted in the College on 22 June 2018, in
A.P.J.ABDUL KALAM Seminar hall.This meeting was started at 10:30 am by lightening the
lamp.Mr. N RAJASEKHAR, RDO Ramachandrapuram, Mr J V SANTOSH, DSP,
Ramachandrapuram, Mr. K SRIDHAR, CI Ramachandrapuram, Mr. K VAMSIDHAR SI,
Ramachandrapuram attended to this meeting as chief guests to create awareness to the students
about “Ragging related consequences”.Mr. J. V. SANTOSH, DSP said that Ragging is an act against
law and he also demonstrated “The evolution of life” suggesting the students to respect persons of
all ages, which is the true essence of human life.The Principal explained the actions to be taken
according to rules of the College.Finally, the meeting was ended with vote of thanks by
Principal.The student council members were asked to report immediately in case of incidents of
ragging. No ragging complaints were received for this academic year. A healthy and friendly
relationship exists between the Freshers & Seniors.

International Women’s Day celebration on 8th March every year commemorates the voices of
women around the world to secure the rights of women thereby creating an environment free from gender
disparity and social inequality. International women’s day is celebrated to appreciate women’s achievement
in the field of science, technology, business etc. The day is celebrated by organizing presentations, speech,
conferences in order to increase worldwide awareness about condition of women and their rights.

HEALTH AND HYGENIC FOR WOMEN
Hygiene refers to maintaining cleanliness for keeping fit and staying healthy. Ma intaining
personal hygiene is important for both men and women, as it ensures good health and has several
social benefits as well. Personal hygiene is a way of life, which is usually concerned about
maintaining cleanliness, following daily good habits and practising a disciplined lifestyle. It
helps us to stay protected from diseases by preventing the spread of harmful germs or bacteria
around us by following an all comprehensive hygienic approach. Besides this, maintaining good
personal hygiene helps in improving your self-esteem and will make you feel better about
yourself.
Personal hygiene as a discipline should be adopted both at home and at the workplace. It’s
because we are surrounded by bacteria and harmful germs everywhere, which may not be visible
to the naked eyes, but act as major carriers of certain harmful diseases or infections. Since, at
workplace we work in a group, unhygienic practices such as unpleasant odour or a shabby
appearance will dissuade your colleagues to work along with you.

create awareness to the students about Ragging related consequences.He said that it is the first and foremost
responsibility of student to fulfill the dreams and hardships of their Parents.Short films & slogans related to
anti-ragging were displayed in the LED wall.The student council members were asked to report
immediately in case of incidents of ragging. No ragging complaints were received for this academic
year. A healthy and friendly relationship exists between the Freshers & Seniors.

WOMEN’S DAY
International Women's Day is celebrated every year on 8th March.This special day is a day to
honour women working in different fields and to celebrate their achievements.The day was first celebrated
on 28th February 1909 at the call of the Socialist Party of America, in New York.You might be surprised to
know that earlier in most countries women did not have the right to vote.In order to give them these rights,
the Women's Day was given international status at the Copenhagen Conference of Socialist International in
1910.The significance of the day increased even more when on the last Sunday of February in 1917, women
in Russia launched a movement.Due to intensity of this movement the Tsar had to relinquish power in
Russia.After this, the interim government formed gave women the right to vote.It is celebrated every year
with special theme of the year and prior planning to strengthen political and social awareness towards
women's struggle.

ANTI DRUG EVENT
The International Day Agains Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is a United Nations International Day against drug abuse and the illegal drug trade. It is observed annually on 26 June, since 1989. The date June 26 is to commemorate Lin Zexu's dismantling of the opium trade in Humen, Guangdong, ending in
June 25 1839,just before the First Opium War in China. The observance was instituted by General
Assembly Resolution 42/112 of 7 December 1987.
On 26 June 1987, two important texts (Comprehensive Multidisciplinary Outline of Future Activities
in Drug Abuse Control & Declaration of the International Conference on Drug Abuse and Illicit
Trafficking) were adopted at the International Conference on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, which was
held in Vienna during 17-26 June 1987. The Conference recommended that an annual day should be
observed to mark the importance of the fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking. Both the dates 17
June and 26 June were suggested, and in the later meetings 26 June was chosen and written into the draft
and final resolution.
SAVE GIRL CHILD AWARENESS
Women are the most important section of the society and equally participate in the life existence on
the earth. However, regular decrease in the sex ratio of female in India because of the crimes against
women, it has created the fear of total finish of women. So, it is very necessary to save girl child in order to
maintain the ratio of women in India. It has been a most important topic as a social awareness in the Indian
society which youths of the country must know about. In order to enhance the writing skill and knowledge
of the students, teachers assign them this topic to write only paragraph or complete essay in the classroom,
during exam or any competition organized for the essay writing. Following essay on save girl child are
especially written for the students. They can choose any save girl child essay according to their need and
requirement:
HEATH & HYGIENE AWARENESS
Health is defined as a state of complete physical, mental and social being and not merely an absence
of disease or infirmity A clear skin Bright, clear eyes.A body neither too fat nor too thin.Fresh breath.Good
appetite Sound sleep.Regular activity of bladder and bowels.Hygiene refers to conditions and practices that
help to maintain health and prevent the spread of diseases.Medical hygiene therefore includes a specific set
of practices associated with this preservation of health. Sewage and chemical wastes should not be released
into the water bodies. Sewage should be chemically treated first before being released into the water bodies
to avoid water-borne diseases. Immunization and vaccination can prevent infectious diseases. Personal
hygiene:- Take care of the skin, keep your hands and nails clean, wash your hair regularly, brush your teeth
and gums after every meal, wash your eye daily with tap water, nose must be cleaned at regular intervals,
never clean an ear with a sharp object, do physical exercise to keep the body muscles active, take proper
rest, sleep for 6-8hr daily, one should develop healthy habits.

training programs like Judo,Karate etc on the occasion of International Women’s Day.One of the objectives
of celebrating the International women’s day is to ensure that everygirl or women is receiving proper
respect and value in the society.On International Women’s Day, the government runs various campaigns for
highlighting the social, economical, cultural and political achievements of women.The celebration helps in
empowering women by promoting equal rights and opportunities for them.International Women’s Day is
the official holiday in many countries like Afghanistan, Russia, Vietnam, China (for women only), Uganda,
and Cuba etc.
Rallies, campaigns, street plays, documentary screening, and women parade are some of the other
programs which are also being organized on International Women’s Day.On the occasion of International
Women’s Day, people present flowers or gifts to their mothers, wives, sisters and colleagues as a mark
ofrespect.In 1977, United Nations passed a resolution in its assembly session to observe 8th March as UN
day for women’s rights and world peace.Government, civil communities, NGOs should come together and
organize activities on the occasion to empower girls and women in the society.
