Driving a classic Jaguar is in itself a rather pleasantand yet exciting experience. On hot Summer’s days,blasting along quite country lanes, with the wind inyour hair and the sun on your back. However, that was then and this is now! Today’schoked roads can mean hours at a standstill, emer-gency braking becomes altogether too frequent and abreakdown truck can often bring an unwelcome endto a much anticipated day’s fast driving.

So that in mind we welcome you to the SNG BarrattSpecial Tuning Catalogue. Intended as a guide tomildly uprating your Jaguar to increase performance,safety and possibly even reliability, rather than to pro-duce an all out racing car!

Each item, conversion or kit listed within these pagesis tried and tested and in many cases has several yearsof dependable service to their credit. The vast majorityof these are suitable for DIY fitment by an experienced

home mechanic. However, one or two call of them formore advanced mechanical knowledge and workshopfacilities. Therefore we have graded each item to showthe level of skill required to fit it. MK2 Rear Suspension Coil Spring Kit The rather outdated rear leaf spring arrangementused on the MK2 has always meant that the both theride quality and the handling left a lot to be desiredunder certain driving conditions. SNG Barratt can nowsupply a conversion that will dramatically change thesuspension geometry allowing the car to be fitted withconventional coil springs.

Obviously, fitting coil springs to a car that was originallyfitted with leaf springs is quite a feat of engineering,and not something to be attempted by the faint heartedas a considerable amount of welding and cutting isinvolved.
