Helping people to stop smoking e-learning - Course Guide

In the following steps, you will learn how to:

1. log on 2. use the Course Help 3. get the Course Certificate and4. how to become a Quit Card Provider (if you want to)

Logging on

1. Type the following URL into the browser address bar: learnonline.health.nz

Note that you can use any of the following browsers to view this course:

Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10, Firefox, Safari v5+, Google Chrome

2. Select the ‘Login’ link and enter your details, or jump to the next step if you are a first time user of LearnOnline:

3. To create a new account, select the ‘New Account’ link:

4. Fill out the form and then select ‘Create my new account’:

5. You will receive an email confirming your registration and requesting that you now activate your account. Follow the instructions in the email to do that.Important: If you haven’t received an email in 2 minutes, check your email ‘spam’ folder.

6. Next, navigate to the course as follows: Home > Course Catalogue > Helping people to stop smoking:

7. On the course page you will find all the learning activities and support that you need to complete the course.

Note that on the top left hand side of the course page there is a Help link. This help covers:

navigation how to allow pop-ups saving your certificate where to get help

8. Jump to the next step to learn how to get the Course Certificate.

To get the Course Certificate

1. To get the Course Certificate you need to complete the learning activity and achieve at least an 80% score for the assessment at the end:

2. Once you have passed the assessment at the end of the activity, the Certificate will become available:

3. You can either print or save your Course Certificate. The Help link at the top left of the course page will help you do this.

4. If you would like to become a Quit Card Provider, move on to the next step.

To become a Quit Card Provider

1. You can become a Quit Card Provider once you have achieved the Course Certificate.

Follow the steps below to register as a Quit Card Provider:

2. Ensure your postal address is correctly recorded in your profile:

Click on your name on top right:

3. In the Profile page, click the Edit profile tab:

4. Enter your postal address and then select Update profile:

5. Send a copy of your Course Certificate to AbcCert@quit.org.nz (we suggest as a PDF (instructions above)).

6. Your Quitcard Provider registration details will be sent to your postal address.
