EXTENSIVE MATERIAL RANGESMITH offers a full-range of body materials including carbon steel, chrome alloy steel, many grades of stainless steel, and many types of high alloy materials. In addition, trim materials matching all API Trim Numbers (see API 602) are available as well as virtually any other specialty trims or combinations. Packing material options are also available when standard, low emission Grafoil® packing material is not desired.

EASY MAINTENANCEThe round bolted bonnet design makes for easy in line maintenance. The RTJ gasket is a standard size and easily obtainable from multiple sources. There are no special tools required and the on-line IOM (Installation, Operation and Maintenance) provides all the required torque information for reassembly.

SERVICE OFFERINGSSmith has been manufacturing forged steel valves for over 50 years. The Smith Branded product lines are found on almost all North American AML documents and carried by most of the largest front line distribution companies. As the products are manufactured in the USA availability is unmatched by all foreign competition.

With our facilities being located in Houston, Texas, processes such as plant inspections, customer relations, expediting, project coordination, and special handling/shipping instructions are all easily attended.

LOW FUGITIVE EMISSIONSOver the last ten years the world has focused on global warming and the potential cause of same. We do not pretend to understand this complicated phenomenon but if there is a chance that emissions from processing plants are adding to global warming we want to make sure that we do our part to ensure Smith products are not contributing to the problem. At SMITH we have done extensive testing of our packing systems. Testing documents according to API 624, MESC SPE 77/300, API 622, and Method 21 are all available to our customers.

LOW FUGITIVE EMISSIONSAs a standard, Smith Gate and Globe Valves are supplied with Low Emission packing tested to international standards and in some cases, to specific end user protocols. Solid Collection Globe Valves are designed with extra large stuffing boxes and packing ring cross-sections coupled with non-rotating stems, all of which provide enhanced fugitive emissions performance.
