Safety in the Dojo

The most important thing in the Dojo is the safety of each student, the safety of the students’ training and the parent/guardians or any others, observing the training in the Dojo. The Dojo has

certain rules that EVERYONE must follow to ensure safety. Please go over these rules with your child and keep this handbook in a safe place to reference later on if you have questions.

Everyone gives 100% Nothing is free THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO HORSE-PLAY IN THE DOJO! Do not leave your gear out in the way of others ALL shoes and gear will be kept properly

stored in provided areas. Always warm up properly before stretching and participting in training, even if you are

practicing alone. Always ensure that you have ALL protective gear when participating in Sparring. Always be aware of your surroundings and people around you, for their safey and yours. Always make sure your Instructor(s) is/are aware of any illness or injury you might have

when you get to class. BE AWARE OF YOUR PHYSICAL CONDITION! DO NOT practive until your illness or injury has healed completely, you could slow the healing process if you attempt to return too early.

Each student should know his/her physical condition, stamina and physical strength. We encourage all our students to do their best at all times. However, DO NOT force yourself to do the impossible.

Let the Instructor know immediately if you sustain and injury while training in the Dojo or if you feel sick.

Do not eat right before training Always keep properly hydrated. DRINK WATER! Please bring a water bottle to class. When you start training with weapons (Kobudo), ALWAYS be aware of others around

you. Listen to the instructor(s) at all times. Any “horse-play” will result in you being told to leave the training floor. Many of the

weapons can leave painful bruises, or cause broken bones. If not handled properly, the weapons we work with, could cause life threatening injuries or death.

You MUST NEVER touch or pick up ANY weapon that does not belong to you WITHOUT PERMISSION.

When using training equipment always handle it with care. If you have any questions regarding safetly please ASK!
