With the support of SmileHealthy and our deliverables, it is our hope that these initiatives can be carried out in future semesters

Over the course of the semester with SmileHealthy, we took away many things through both inquiry-based learning and nonprofit operations details. We learned that in order to be successful, organizations must utilize new promotional and marketing techniques to gain public awareness. They also must maintain current programs and services through various educational tools and fundraising efforts.

Additionally, taking the steps of self-reflection, analysis, field research, research decongestion, and application, will lead to a well-thought out project plan that can be utilized for years to come. Individually we have undergone improvements, such as communication skills, team management, and problem-solving techniques that have assisted in sculpting us into more efficient team members.

Finally, we have learned that working with non-profit organizations is handled differently than for-profit businesses, as there is an overarching goal of reaching out to the community, rather than merely gaining revenue. Uncovering the needs and visions of the non-profit industry has allowed us to learn effective contributions and planning in reaching their goals.

We would like to express our gratitude to SmileHealthy, particularly Nancy Greenwalt, Simone Ford, and Jeana Shroyer, for the constant support and invaluable input, as well as participating dentists and hygienists for doing their part to maintain care. We also owe many thanks to the LINC program, especially coordinators Valeri and Bruce for their guidance and feedback, SkateLand Savoy, UIUC poster participants, our photographer ________, for making all of our efforts possible.
