Westin wanted to Add More recognition to their brand and welcome guests into an inviting atmosphere when they arrived at their properties. According to the Senior Vice President of Westin Hotels & Resorts, “Scent is the most memorable of the senses. We feel scent is an exciting and important part of the guest experience.”

CHALLENGEThere are more than 120 Westin properties, including 30 of the world’s finest resorts. Each serves as a serene and distinctive alternative for those who appreciate a higher standard. All of the Westin Hotels & Resorts are architecturally inspiring, thoughtfully designed and located in the world’s most exciting cities and sumptuous resort destinations. The addition of a custom developed signature fragrance completes the full sensory approach that Westin takes when greeting their guests.

SOLUTIONStrategically positioned at entrances to greet guests as they arrive, ScentWave scent delivery systems offer a light and refreshing White Tea welcome in Westin hotels worldwide. Westin has taken the idea of sensory branding and signature scent to a whole new level. They now offer candles, oils and even a home version of the ScentWave system to consumers; all of which deliver their custom developed White Tea fragrance.

Mountain Island Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics in Charlotte, NC, approached ScentAir because they wanted to better their overall patient experience.

CHALLENGE:They were seeking a way to comfort not only their pediatric patients who can be frightened by dental visits and clinical smells, but the parents as well. Their challenge was to create such a great experience for patients and parents that they come back more often and refer others to their practice.

SOLUTION:The local ScentAir representative came to the practice, surveyed the space and recommended two ScentWave systems to be the most effective solution – one in the lobby to help comfort parents and one in the back to ease the apprehension of children. The Mountain Island Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics team agreed and then went through the fun process of sampling fragrances from the ScentAir library, ultimately landing on Asian Garden, a fresh and pleasant scent that people often comment on, asking what they use. The team loves that the ScentWave fragrance cartridge is automatically shipped each month and that the system has a timer as well as a fragrance intensity control that they can adjust as needed. Mission accomplished!

Florida’s Celebration Hospital wanted to Add More comfort in their MRI department to help relax their patients. According to the Managing Director of Seaside Imaging, “ScentAir has played a large role in creating our overall environment. The calming environment with scent has resulted in a 50% reduction in cancellation rates.”

CHALLENGEFear is one of the most powerful emotions we have. And what could be more fearful than a visit to the hospital for an MRI? Celebration Health, Florida Hospital’s health care facility located in Disney’s town of Celebration, had a serious problem with patients canceling MRI appointments at the last minute. These cancellations could not be filled in a timely manner and would ultimately lead to lost revenues. The hospital was seeking a solution to help reduce these cancellations.

SOLUTIONSo Celebration Health got creative. They renamed their MRI department to Seaside Imaging and turned it into a relaxing beach-themed environment. Beach murals were painted on the walls throughout the waiting and changing rooms and the usual chairs were replaced with wooden rocking chairs and folding lounge chairs. Even the MRI machine itself was transformed into a large sandcastle. ScentAir provided the fragrances of Coconut and Ocean to complete their revolutionary approach. The result? How does a 50% reduction in cancellations sound?
