Plug the USB mini plug into the docking station, plug the larger USB plug in to the 240v charger and plug the charger into a power outlet. The docking station will show a slight red glow to indicate that it is on. Place the locator into the docking station making sure you seat it properly so that it can’t move, if it moves around you need to push in down slightly. Once it is seated the docking station will show a bright red glow to indicate it is charging. When the locator shows a slight red glow again, the locator is fully charged usually after three hours and can be removed from the docking station or left until required. The green and blue lights on the locator will be on, indicating that the locator is operating and will begin to send location positions to smart-tracking.com (Internet) and mobile application We have programed the locator to be in Smart Power Saving mode with 2 minute location updates so the locator battery will last at least two days with re-charging required on the second night Turning on the locator By placing the locator into the powered docking station, the locator will start up and start to send position location messages to the Smart Online Tracking System (Internet). When not in the docking station you can also press the on/off button on the side for one second to turn it on. To turn the locator off, push the SOS and side button together for one second. The locator can stay turned on at all times. When the green locator light is flashing twice quickly every 3 seconds, you locator is connected to the mobile network and to the Tracking System (Internet). A single flashing green light indicates that the locator is only connected to the mobile network for SOS SMS and calls. The blue locator light will flash once quickly every 3 seconds when receiving GPS satellite positions. A slow flashing blue light indicates no GPS connection, try outdoors or another position. In the pre-set Smart Power Saving mode, when there is no movement, the GPS will go to sleep to conserve battery life and the blue indicator will turn off. Every 10 minutes it will wake and send one message and then go back to sleep. If GPS can not get a fix it will send the last known location after waking and no movement. Once movement occurs the GPS will immediately awake, the blue light will come on and a GPS fix position message will be sent to the Tracking System every two minutes, or until it detects no movement after which it will go back to 10 minute messages When needing to locate a wearer, the time interval for location message delivery can be increased from two minutes to every minute in the Tracking system application (Internet) or by sending an SMS TI01M to the locator phone number. In the mobile app, click on the ‘spanner’ icon to go to time interval settings. Move the slide bar a little to change the interval setting. NOTE: The battery will deplete quicker when time interval set to 1 minute so set back to 2-5 minutes when less frequent location messages required Locator name: Locator Phone No: on/off & phone call button Smartsense GPS locator SIM card recharge Ac No: SIM card recharge Password:

SOS button

Sending an SOS from the locator

To activate an SOS alarm, push the SOS button for three seconds until you feel a vibration. Immediately an SMS ‘Help’ text message will be sent to all authorised phone numbers. The SMS text message contains a link to the Google maps application to show the latest locator position. It will also dial each of the programed authorised phone numbers in succession whether or not the calls are answered in person or by messagebank. You can then commence a conversation. Up to five numbers can be programed.

The locator has a built in fall sensor that may detect a *fall. On detection of a *fall it may send an SMS SOS FALL alarm and call the authorised programed phone numbers. When one phone answers you can commence a conversation. The SOS button should be pushed any time the wearer needs help especially in a fall.

Request the locator position by sending an SMS text from your mobile phone

Creating a geo-fence zone The Smart Online Tracking System (Internet) can be programed to send SMS and email alerts when the Smartsense locator wearer wanders out of or into an area that has been defined as a zone on Google maps. Refer to Smartsence supplier for setup.

To fetch the latest location position from the locator, send loc from your SMS texting application to the phone number of the locator. You will be sent an SMS reply from the locator with a link to Google Maps To get the latest location position by street address, send add from your SMS texting application to the phone number of the locator. You will be sent an SMS reply from the locator with the address details

Any phone can call the locator and any phone can request an SMS location message from the locator. Only alerts and alarms are sent to authorised phones

The above pictures show the SMS text messages received on a phone (programed to receive alerts) The Google Map link is shown in blue. By clicking on the blue link your phone should open the Google Map application and show the locator position on the map as a red pointer. An alert will also appear on the Smart Online Tracking System (Internet) and can send an audible alarm on the computer if turned on
