Footballs placed in centralarea, with 4 different 1v1targets around a square.
Whites attack and try to
score by shooting,dribbling or running withthe ball against Bluedefenders.
Attackers must return tocentre and attack adifferent zone each time.
Switch roles after 5 minutes.

Possession team mustkeep the ball in their ownhalf.
Normal game As it says
Barca team must pushup in to opposition halfand keep the ball.

Golden Goal game
4v4 game played on halfpitch into small goals.
The first team to score 3goals keeps the ball and
looks to release a runnerrunning towards the biggoal.
Once a pass is made the
opposition can defendand try to stop theattacker scoring.

Transitions Game
3 Teams of 5 players plus 2goalkeepers.
Coach passes ball to blueswho attack against whites in
one half.
If white win the ball they takeit into opposite half andattack vs yellows. (If blue
score vs whites, they attackyellows) and so on.
Count how many successfulattacks all three teams have.

Mark three thirds, onegoalkeeper at either endand outfield players 4v4 inmiddle.
To score, the attacker hasto dribble into the attackingthird and beat thegoalkeeper.
Defenders arent allowed
to retreat into defensivethird.

Switch Goal Game
2 Equal teams play adirectional game.

4v4 breakout to 1v1
4v4 played in the middlearea while two defendersstand inside the smallzones at each end.
The 4v4 is played until oneteam can create anopportunity to break intoan opposing zone.
They then play 1v1 to see ifthey can score.

Play 4v4, 5v5 or 6v6depending on age. Adjustpitch size as appropriate.
All players on the team
have to touch the ballbefore a goal can bescored.
This will encourage
teamwork and
communication.

To score a goal teams canonly shoot in their own half.
This game will encourageplayers to press high up thefield.

Push up Game
Two teams, 4v4, 5v5 or 6v6plus two goalkeepers.
To score a goal, ALL of theattacking team must be in
the oppositions half of thepitch. (Except GK)
This encourages thedefensive line to move out
quickly during a game.
Play offsides to make itcompetitive.

Real Madrid Game
Two small goals placedback to back in the centreof a square pitch.
Teams arranged either 4v4
or 5v5.
Both teams can score inany goal but must choosethe right time, and angle, to
attack.
Players will naturally spreadout to cover all angles andmake the pitch big.

Players play one at a time tosee if they can beat all three
defenders who must stay intheir own zone.
Sell this as a chance forplayers to demo their tricks.

Two equal teams play 6v6on the pitch with twotarget players on eitherside of the goal.
Teams aim to work the ballforward to the targetplayer and score from areturning pass.
Target players can only
have one touch so qualityis essential.

Dealing with Overloads
Mark out two pitches bigenough for 6v6 games.
Arrange players into blue andwhite teams and play 4v4 on
both pitches.
Once they are playing, if a blueplayer score on the top pitch he drops down to play for the
blue team at the bottom pitch.
This creates a 3v4 and 5v4
overload on both pitches. Everytime a player scores on onepitch, they go to join their team
on the opposite pitch.

One team defend the foursmall goals while trying toscore in the three goal
triangle goal in the centre.
The other team nominate agoalkeeper to defend thetriangle goal, while 3
outfield players try to score
in the four little goalsaround the pitch.

One team (blue)has two
players playing as wingers in
wide areas. One of these
wingers must receive the ballto deliver a cross before a goalcan be scored.
The other team (white) have
two players standing on eitherside of the goal their teamattack. Their team mates try to
play up to them and support
quickly to score a goal. Target
men have one touch.

Break the Line
Three teams of four, two teamsin blue occupy large areas
while the white team play asdefenders in the smaller mid
zone.
Coach plays the ball to one ofthe blue teams. 1 white player
joins in and acts as pressure.
The blues try to pass the ball
through to the opposite blueteam on the other side.
Add constraints, e.g no balls
over the top so the players
must be patient and look for a
through pass.
