SmallProjects - Art fabricaon in London SmallProjects is a London based design, fabricaon and project management company specialising in three-dimensional projects for arsts, designers and architects. Started in early 2011 by experienced designer and fabricator James Shearer, SmallProjects offers a full service for bespoke fabricaon. Producon teams and facilies are selected specifically for each project meaning that the design and build can be tailored to suit any scale, budget and clients needs. Art fabricaon SmallProjects has worked on a variety of projects for arsts and designers, offering everything from consultancy in the inial stages through to management and installaon. Fabricaon experse in a wide range of materials and processes means that SmallProjects can develop viable soluons for any concept. Management In 2011 SmallProjects undertook the fabricaon design and project management of RainBow Gate (pictured), a sculptural pavilion by Tonkin Liu Architects. The complex stainless steel structure was curved and welded on CNC cut plywood formers designed by SmallProjects. The sculpture was fabricated at Mike Smith Studio, London. James Shearer also managed the installaon in Burnley. Installaon SmallProjects has managed several installaons over the past year in locaons including the Tower of London and the Victoria and Albert Museum. James Shearer’s experience in installaon management includes everything from small individual artworks to 18 metre high steel structures. He has worked all over the UK and other parts of Europe, as well as the U.S., China and Singapore.
