NICHOLS COLLEGE

ANTHONYS RESTAURANT INTRODUCTION AND
ENTREPRENEUR'S COMPANY
Company: Anthony's Restaurant
One of my good friends since first grade and my current
room mate is the granddaughter of the owner of Anthony’s
Restaurant.
Their trend setting is a creative inspired atmosphere. With
picnic pleasure, elegant feast and memorable weddings,
Anthony’s gives consistent attention to detail.
Anthony’s has been in business for over thirty seven years.
BACKGROUND OF ANTHONY'S
The beginning: Anthony Spadafora and his best friend decided to open a
restaurant together. After opening, Anthony decided to buy his partners
share and created Anthony’s Restaurant.
They decided to start Anthony’s since times were hard back them both
men wanted to be able to support their families and create a better life
for each of them.
Anthony is not only a business man, but the entire Spafadora family is
business orientated. The Spadafora’s own Spadafora’s Florists,
Spadafora’s Funeral Home, Spadafora’s Slush and Highland Smoke
Shop.
This compares to Anthony’s today because all of Spadafora businesses
have been extremely successful, and since then Anthony’s has grown
twice the size and is known as an excellent restaurant in Malden
Massachusetts.
SUCCESSES AND CHALLENGES
Successes: Anthony’s has grown a lot throughout the years and is an
extremely successful restaurant.
It is a family orientated business.
Anthony’s staff consists of family members which gives the customers a
safe and welcoming feeling while walking through the doors.
Challenges: There have been staff members who stole from the business.
Numerous break ins.
SUCCESSES AND CHALLENGES CONTINUED
The most challenging aspect of running Anthony’s is being able to
keep the customers happy. Today there are many restaurants with
over priced menus. Anthony’s is able to provide a delicious meal at a
negotiable price.
Anthony’s overcame these challenges by developing a trust worthy
staff who cares about Anthony’s and treats it like their second home.
The critical success factors for this type of business are: great
service, beautiful atmosphere, and delicious food.
The fatal flaws in this type of business are: fires, negative staff
member, bad service.
THE FUTURE
Recently the owner of Anthony’s, Anthony Spadafora I
died at the age of 85. Anthony’s restaurant is now owned by
his son Anthony Spadafora Jr, with his brother Albert
Spadafora. They hope to keep the family business alive and
continue to please their customers.
QUESTIONS
Question: Eventually would you want to own Anthony’s
restaurant?
Stefanie: Yes it is my dream to one day own my family
business.
Question: Where do you see Anthony's in the next 5
years?
Stefanie: I hope to see Anthony’s expand throughout
Malden, and continue to please the customers.
Question: What makes Anthony’s so successful?
Stefanie: I believe that with our family orientated staff,
Anthony’s is a very loving restaurant that makes the
customers coming back for more.
SUMMARY
Advice: In order to be successful you must believe in yourself
and remember you are never to young or old to start your own
business. Follow your dreams.
Through this interview I learned that every business will have
its ups and downs. If your planning to open your own business I
believe that you have to be 100% committed and love what your
