REINVENTION OF KNOWLEDGE : LOCAL-GLOBALLY TRAN4MATIONAL

INTER-INSTITUTIONAL COMMUNIVERSITY

Knowledge has been fundamentally reinvented a

number of times in the history of the West. In each

case one new institution has replaced the

knowledge based institution that preceded it. Today

the laboratory and the research university still stand

as the most evolved and overlapping intermeshed

institutions of knowledge. But since the central

dynamic in the history of knowledge has been for a

single institution to supersede its predecessor, the time is ripe for reinvention, for us the

Communiversity.

What is it then that makes social mobilisation unique? At the same time, as economic improvement is promoted, so is community spirit. What is known as the rat-race in the West where everybody is out to fill their own pockets as their top priority is the very antithesis of social mobilisation where every pocket is filled, where people will work together for group gain that ultimately benefits individuals too.
