3 Safety To ensure personal safety, it is important to follow these safety instructions. These instructions must be kept.

3.1 Intended useThe Slimdrive SF and Slimdrive SF-FR 2M is solely suitable for use à in dry rooms à in automatic door systems for horizontally moving door leaves à in entrances and interior areas of pedestrian traffic, in commercial plants and public areas

The Slimdrive SF and Slimdrive SF-FR 2M may not be used as a fire door or smoke control door.The Slimdrive SF-FR 2M is approved for use in emergency exits.The Slimdrive SF may not be used as an emergency exit door.

3.2 Safety instructions à The mandatory installation, maintenance and repair work must be performed by properly trained personnel

authorised by GEZE. à The country-specific laws and regulations are to be observed during safety-related tests. à If unauthorised changes are made to the system, GEZE cannot be made liable in any way whatsoever for any

resulting damage or losses, and the approval (of the Slimdrive SF-FR 2M) for use in emergency exits expires. à GEZE is not liable if products from other manufacturers are used with GEZE equipment. à Furthermore, only original GEZE parts may be used for repair and maintenance work. à The connection to the power supply must be made by a professional electrician. Perform the power connec-

tion and equipment earth conductor test in accordance with VDE 0100 Part 610.

à Use a customer-accessible 10-A overload cut-out as the line-side disconnecting device. à Protect the display programme switch against unauthorised access. à The detection field of the movement detector in the direction of emergency exit must satisfy the AutSchR

directive (for Slimdrive SF-FR 2M). à In compliance with Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC), a risk analysis must be performed and the door system

identified in accordance with CE Marking Directive 93/68/EEC before the door system is commissioned. à Observe the latest versions of guidelines, standards and country-specific regulations, in particular:

à ASR A1.7 "Guidelines for doors and gates" à DIN 18650 "Building hardware – Automatic door systems" à VDE 0100, Part 610 "Installing Electrical Power Systems with Nominal Voltages up to 1000 V" à AutSchR "Directive for automatic windows, doors and gates" (for Slimdrive SF-FR 2M) à Accident-prevention regulations, especially BGV A1 "General regulations" and BGV A2 "Electrical systems

and equipment" à DIN EN 60335-2-103 "Safety of electrical devices for home use and similar purposes; special requirements

for drives for gates, doors and windows"

3.3 Safety conscious working à Secure workplace against unauthorised entry. à Watch pivoting range of long system parts. à Never carry out work with a high safety risk (e.g. installing the drive, covering or door leaf) while alone. à Secure the covering/drive panels against falling. à Use only cables prescribed in the cable plan provided. Lay shields in accordance with the wiring diagram. à Secure loose, internal drive cables with cable ties. à Before working on the electrical system:

à Disconnect the drive from the 230 V mains and check to ensure that it is not supplied with power. à Disconnect the control unit from the 24 V battery. à Note that if an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is used, the system will still be supplied with power

despite the fact that the power supply is disconnected. à Always use insulated wire-end ferrules for wire cores. à Attach safety stickers to glass door leaves. à Danger of injury with opened drive. Hair, clothing, cables, etc. can be drawn in by rotating parts! à Danger of injury through unsecured crushing, impact, drawing-in or shearing spots! à Danger of injury by broken glass! à Danger of injury due to sharp edges in the drive! à Danger of injury during installation through freely moving parts!

3.4 Inspection of the installed systemMeasures for security and prevention of pinching, impact, shearing or drawing-in spots: à Check the functioning of safety sensors and movement detectors. à The detection field of the movement detector in the direction of the emergency exit must cover the opening

width x 1.5 m in front of the door. à The movement detector in the direction of the emergency exit (see AutSchR) must detect people moving

faster than 0.1 m/s. à Check protective earth connection to all metal parts that can be touched. à Perform a safety analysis (risk analysis).

3.5 Environmentally conscious working à When disposing of the door system, separate the different materials and have them recycled. à Do not dispose of batteries and storage cells with household waste. à Comply with the statutory regulations when disposing of the door system and the batteries/rechargeable

batteries.

5 Installation

5.1 Preparations on site

Check the preparations made on site by the customer to ensure proper installation: à Type and load capacity of the façade construction or base construction à Evenness of the installation surface à Cable plan requirements

5.2 Installation X Secure workplace against unauthorised entry. X Always perform work with a second technician. X Use a stepladder or step stool. X Keep inside area of running rail clean.

5.2.1 Mounting the drive

Only use the upper boring slot (2) for the fixing drill holes in the mounting profile (1).

X Make fixing drill holes in the mounting profile (1). X Align the mounting profile in the installation area and use it as a drilling template. X Make the drill holes according to the circumstances in situ

(see installation plan 70497-ep01). X Prepare cable routing according to the circumstances in situ, e.g.:

à transfer cable penetration from the running rail to the mounting profile. à Cut out mounting profile in the marked place.

ATTENTION!Risk of injury by non-secured components falling.

X Completely clamp the running rail.

X Hang running rail with pre-assembled assembly groups in the mounting profile. X Align running rail laterally.

X Clamp the running rail so that it cannot twist: à Position the masking and stop plate (2) under the drive and align centrally. à Align the position of the four clamping strip safety screws (4) to the position of the insertion drill holes (3) in

the stop plate. à Loosely position four clamping strips (1) with two setscrews DIN 916 M6 x 12 each at equal distance at the

ends of the drive and in the centre. à Tighten the setscrews DIN 916 M6 x 12 on the clamping rails (1).

The running rail is clamped with the mounting profile.

5.2.2 Installing the floor-mounted pivot

The following points describe installation on the right-hand side. Installation on the left-hand side is reversed.

X Use a plumb-line or laser pointer to align the centre of the floor guide rail (3) to the centre of the drive (4).

X Use a drill Ø 8 mm to pre-drill through the drill hole without countersinking the floor guide rail (3).

X Fixing the floor guide rail in place: à Drive a compact dowel HKD-M 6 from

Hilti (5) into the drill hole. à Fix the floor guide rail (3) in place using

a cylinder head screw DIN 6912-M 6 x 35 (6) and washer DIN 433-6.4 (7).

à Screw down the floor guide rail.

X Use a drill Ø 8 mm to pre-drill through the drill hole without countersinking the floor guide rail (3).

X If necessary (depending on the length of the floor guide rail) pre-drill with counter-sinking using a drill Ø 8 mm in the centre of the rail.

X Remove the floor guide rail (3). �

X Drill out the two outer drill holes (Ø 8 mm) using a Ø 10 mm drill bit.

Cylinder head screws which have been used before must not be used again.

X Fix the floor guide rail again using counter-sunk screws.

The floor plate for pivot bearings must be fixed to the floor by at least three screws.

X Drill holes into the floor plate for pivot bearings at the designated fixing points for fixing the countersunk screws.

X The drill hole for the countersunk screw M8 (2) is already there. Drill the drill holes for the other screws (maxi-mum M6) as far apart as possible in the fixing areas (1) of the floor plate.

X Align the floor plate for pivot bearings (3) to the door leaf holders at the top (4) using a plumb-line or laser pointer.

X Transfer the drill hole positions to the sub-structure (provided by the customer).

X Set the drill holes in the sub-structure and screw the floor plate for pivot bearings (3) to the sub-structure.

The screwed joint between the floor plate for pivot bearings and the sub-structure must be very stable.

X Install the floor-mounted pivot (5) in the floor plate for pivot bearings (3) and align to the door leaf holders at the top using a plumb-line or laser pointer and screw in place.

5.2.3 Installing the post profiles

With locking mechanism

The post profile covers are not clipped in place until later.

X Slide the drive unit locking device (2) from the top about 40 cm into the post profile on the left (1).

X Use 4 setscrews DIN 916 M5 x 8 (3) to secure it against slipping.

X Insert the connecting bracket at the top (4) and holding bracket at the bottom (6) into the post profile.

X Use 2 setscrews DIN 916 M5 x 8 (5) each to secure them against slip-ping.

X Attach the connecting bracket at the top (4) loosely to the side plate (8) of the drive using 2 safety screws M5 x 10 Verbus-Ripp (7). �

X Fix the holding bracket at the bottom (6) to the floor bearing using 2 cylinder head screws DIN 6912 M5 x 12 (9).

X Push the connecting bracket at the top (4) upwards in the post profile and tighten the 2 safety screws M5 x 10 Verbus-Ripp (7). Tighten both setscrews DIN 916 M5 x 8 (5).

X Glue the light barriers from the inside onto the cover on the left. X Install the post profile on the right:

à Connecting angle at the top, holding angle at the bottom and light barriers must also be installed on the right-hand side as described above.

à Stick the sticker on the notch on the left cover.

Without locking mechanism X Insert the connecting bracket at the top (4) and the holding bracket at the bottom (6) into the post profile on

the left (1) and secure against slipping using 2 setscrews DIN 916 M5 x 8 (5). X Attach the connecting bracket at the top (4) loosely to the side plate (8) of the drive using 2 safety screws M5 x

10 Verbus-Ripp (7). X Fix the holding bracket at the bottom (6) to the floor bearing using 2 cylinder head screws DIN 6912 M5 x 12

(9). X Push the connecting bracket at the top (4) upwards in the post profile and tighten the 2 safety screws M5 x 10

Verbus-Ripp (7). X Tighten both setscrews DIN 916 M5 x 8 (5). X Glue the light barriers from the inside onto the cover on the left. X Install the post profile on the right:

à Connecting angle at the top, holding angle at the bottom and light barriers must also be installed on the right-hand side as described above.

5.2.4 Installing the masking and stop plate

With locking mechanism

X Screw the fixing rod (2) into the slide plate (1). X Screw the adapter (2) to the corner operating gear (3). X Push the corner operating gear with the adapter onto the

fixing rod (2) and clamp in place. X Push the mounted slide plate unit into the masking and

stop plate (5) and screw tight using countersunk screws.

X Use a screwdriver to turn the slide plate (6) via corner oper-ating gear into the open position.

X Slide the fitted unit under the drive, align it and tighten the 4 safety screws M6 x 16 Verbus-Ripp (12 Nm) (see arrows in diagram below).

X Connect the drive unit lock (7) with the corner operating gear (3) and tighten the 4 setscrews DIN 916 M5 x 8 (8).

Without locking mechanism X Slide the masking and stop plate under the drive, align it and tighten the 4 safety screws M6 x 16 Verbus-Ripp

(12 Nm) (see arrows in diagram above).

5.2.5 Fitting the door leaf

ATTENTION!Risk of injury due to glass breakage

X Always mount the door leaf together with another person.

ATTENTION!Risk of crushing through door leaves which are unsecured and can be moved easily

X Make sure that the door leaves cannot be moved accidentally or by unauthorised persons.

X Do not fit the couplers yet.

X Before the door leaves are fitted, align them in such a way to each other that the angle between the drive leaf and the fol-lowing leaf approximately corresponds to the open position.

X When engaging the door in the floor guide, make sure this is not damaged.

X Slightly tilt the pair of door leaves and at the same time insert the door rail (1) into the floor bearing (2) and the floor guide (3) into the guide rail (4).

X Bring the pair of door leaves into a vertical position.

X Insert the door leaf holder (5) into the mounting flange (6). X Secure the pairs of door leaves with 2 safety screws M6 x 30

Inbus-Ripp each (10 Nm).�

5.2.6 Removing the door leavesRemoval is done in the reverse order of installation.

5.2.7 Adjusting the door leaves

Observe the applicable standards and guidelines on crushing, shearing and drawing-in spots.

X The height of the door leaves can be adjusted by raising the floor bearings. X Move the floor bearing and/or align the door leaf holders at the top. X Mark the position of the floor bearings after alignment.

If the height of the door leaves has to be corrected, the floor bearings do not have to be re-aligned.The door leaves are connected with the system, the positions of the primary closing edges have been set.

Adjusting the height of the door leaves X Measure the clearance between the upper edge of the door leaf and the lower edge of the running rail.

à Clearance of 4 to 5.5 mm: The height of the door leaves is correct. à Clearance greater than 5.5 mm: The floor bearings have to be raised.

To raise the floor bearings:

X Remove the door leaves. X Remove the floor-mounted pivot (1). X Place washers (2) under the floor-mounted

pivots.

X Do not set the clearance between the upper edge of the door leaf and the lower edge of the running rail to less than 4 mm.

X Use a maximum of 2 washers (1 washer ~ 1.5 mm) per screw.

X Fix the floor-mounted pivot (1) in the marked position.

X Fit the door leaf.

After setting the door leaves, the following functions or settings must be checked: à Setting of the locking mechanism (option). The locking mechanism must be readjusted if necessary. à Setting of the door leaf stops in the open position (stop plates on the roller carriages).

5.2.8 Fitting the floor seal in the door leaves

à Scraping sealing brushes can leave marks on the finished flooring. à When determining the clearance, the whole pivoting range of the door leaves must be taken into account.

X Establish clearance A between the finished floor and the lower door shoe.

X Remove the door leaves (see below). X Push the sealing brushes (4) into the respective

brush holders (5). X Press the brush holders together anywhere to

secure the sealing brushes against slipping. X Set the respective vertical position via the hex-

agon nut ISO 4032 M5 (2) as an upward stop. à Projection B = Clearance – 1 mm à Position C = 17.2 mm – Projection B

X Position the equipped brush holders under the hexagon nuts (2) and fix in place using locknuts M5 Verbus-Ripp (3) against hexagon nuts (2).

X Fit the door leaf.

5.2.9 Mounting the hook for locking

Only on systems with locking (option).

Hooks must not pull the door leaves into the locked position during the locking process. X Fit the hook with slight tolerance to the slide plate.

X Fit the hooks (1) in the same position on the left-hand and right-hand door leaves, i.e. the opening of the two hooks must be pointing in the same direction.

X Fit the hooks using 4 washers under one screw each.

X Position the hook (1) and screw it to the door leaf using safety screws M5 x 16 Inbus-Ripp (2) (5 Nm).

X Check the ease of operation of the locking mechanism by hand.

X Check the locking and unlocking functions by hand (see chapter 5.6).

5.2.10 Gluing buffer stops to the door leaves

The glued surfaces must be clean and grease-free.

The minimum clearance X between coupler (1) and guide plate roller carriage (3) must be determined on both pairs of door leaves.

X Establish the minimum clearance X between the coupler (1) and the guide plate roller car-riage (3).

X Compensate any existing minimum play by fit-ting washers (4).

X Note the minimum/maximum screw-in depth of the two M8 screws. (Minimum: 8 mm ; maximum: 13 mm).

X Determine the screw length depending on the minimum and maximum screw-in depth. à Maximum screw length:

5.2.14 Setting the switching points of the locking mechanism (option)The switching points are set to specify the respective end points of the locking bars (locked/unlocked).

When setting the switching points, always heed the following: à Set the switching points correctly. à Set both switch positions in such a way that the guide block does not come into contact with a stop

If setting is not done correctly, the switching contacts are not operated at the end points of the locking mecha-nism ?? and?? malfunctions can occur: à No switching contact while locking: The locking mechanism tries to lock until fault 16 occurs. à No switching contact while unlocking: The locking mechanism tries to unlock until fault 17 occurs.

Requirements:The door leaves have been aligned.

X Mark the position of the masking and stop plate on the drive.

X Transfer the contact surfaces of the hooks (1) to the masking and stop plate.

Adjusting the locked position X Loosen the screws on switch S1. X Move the slide plate by hand to within 2 mm away

from the contact surface of the hook in locked posi-tion.

X Position switch S1 so that the switch is activated at this point (clicking sound).

X Tighten the screws on switch S1.

Adjusting the unlocked position X Loosen the screws on switch S2. X Move the slide plate by hand to within 2 mm away from the contact surface of the hook in open position. X Position switch S2 so that the switch is activated at this point (clicking sound). X Tighten the screws on switch S2.

If the post profile cover cannot be clipped in place: X Remove the masking and stop plate.

Since the covers of post profiles, particularly if they are coated, are very firmly attached after clipping, the covers can be clipped on later. In this case, please observe the following: à The light barriers must not be connected during the learning process. à The learning process must be repeated after the covers have been clipped in place and the simultaneous con-

nection of the light barriers so that the control unit recognises the light barriers.

X Clip the post profile cover in place on the left and right. X Fit the masking and stop plate if appropriate, see chapter 5.2.4.

5.2.19 Installing the key-operated switch

The key-operated switch is required for the Slimdrive SF-FR 2M.The key-operated switch can be installed as an option for the Slimdrive SF.

For electrical installation, see wiring diagram.The program selector (button programme switch or display programme switch) can be enabled/disabled using the key-operated switch.

5.2.20 Final work X Mount the side plate coverings. X Lay the light barrier cable. X Lay the cable to the actuation sensor outside. X Glue the safety sticker to the glass leaf.

5.3 Commissioning

WARNING! Danger of fatal injury due to electric shock!

X The electrical system (230 V) may only be connected and disconnected by a professional electrician. X Perform the power connection and equipment earth conductor test in accordance with VDE 0100 Part 610.

5.3.1 Connecting the rechargeable battery

X Charge the battery for about 1 hour before commissioning.

X Plug the battery cable into the control unit. X Apply mains voltage to the drive.

5.3.2 Connecting the drive

X If flexible cables are used, attach insulated wire-end ferrules.

X Disconnect the system from the 230 V mains network. X Carry out cable routing in an orderly manner in accordance with the cable plan:

Use cable holders, cut break-outs in the side plate if necessary. X Connect the drive to the control unit in accordance with the wiring diagram. X Remove cables from the sliding path of the roller carriages before commissioning and secure them with cable

ties.

To avoid having to fit the coverings to the post profiles several times, it is possible during commissioning to fit bridges instead of the light barrier connectors between terminals 10 and 11 and between terminals 10 and 12.

X Before finally fitting the coverings, remove the bridges and connect the light barriers. X Check the function of the light barriers.

5.3.3 Starting the learning function

WARNING!Danger of crushing. Door leaves move, all the safety equipment on the door is deactivated.

X Move away from the door moving path.

WARNING!Danger of injury with opened drive.Hair, clothing, cables, etc. can be drawn in by rotating parts!

X When working on open drive, be cautious of rotating parts.

For commissioning use the display programme switch DCU1.

X Insert the display programme switch in the terminal field of the control unit. X Clear out detection field of all the sensors. X Connect the system to the 230 V supply.

At first start-up the control will jump to the learning function. The display program switch shows le. sT is then displayed for a DCU1 control unit (sT = standard door) or fT for a DCU1-2M control unit (fT = emergency exit). Then a version number e.g. 14 for Version 1, Revision 4, is displayed.

X Set the drive type (D T) in the 3rd menu to 02.If the control unit has already been in operation, the learning mode is started by selecting le in the service menu.

To perform the learning function correctly, the door leaves must be closed.

X Close the door leaves. X Press the ↵ button.

à Door leaves open and close again. à Run parameters are determined and saved. à Learning program is executed.

X If the display programme switch shows l6 , manually push door leaves to reduced opening width and press the ↵ button twice.

With Slimdrive SF-FR 2M, the reduced opening width is only permissible if it is greater than the required width of the emergency exit route.

à Door leaves open and close.When the display programme switch displays le or aU , the Learning programme has been completed. The door is ready to operate.

à Inside contactor (KI) à Contactor authorised (KB) à Outside contactor (KA) à Use the diagnosis function in service mode to check whether the control unit has learnt all the connected

modules/safety equipment. à Check locking function and reset locking position, if necessary.

X If the system does not work, check the power supply. See also troubleshooting and elimination, fault table.

5.3.5 Filling in the user manual X Record mounted options in the user manual for the owner. X Draw up a safety analysis and have it signed by the builder-owner.

5.4 Dismantling

Danger of damage to the floor guide. X Do not place the door leaves on the floor guide. X When tilting the door leaves out of the floor-mounted pivot watch the floor guide.

The floor guide can suffer heavy damage if the leaves become canted.

Dismantling is done in the reverse order of installation.

5.5 Disposal à When disposing of the door system, separate the different materials and have them recycled. à Do not dispose of batteries and storage cells with household waste. à Comply with the statutory regulations when disposing of the door system and the batteries/rechargeable

batteries.

6.1.3 Checking the tension of the continuous toothed beltWhen set correctly, the continuous toothed belt (1) can be deflected by about 4 to 5 mm using your thumb (see diagram below).

6.1.5 Adjusting the pre-tension of the roller carriage

Check the pre-tension X Push the guide plate (2) upwards at the front edge using a

force of 100 N (F).The guide plate (2) must be able to be pushed upwards by about 2–3 mm in the front area until a fixed stop can be felt. If the guide plate (2) cannot be pushed upwards or only by employing more force, the pre-tension is too high and the pre-tension of the roller carriage must be adjusted.

Adjusting the pre-tension X Loosen screw M6 x 25 Inbus-Ripp (3). X Adjust the pre-tension by turning the eccentric axis (1). X Check the pre-tension (see above), re-adjust if necessary.

6.2 Maintenance check

After completing the maintenance work, always execute the learning function for the door (see Chapter 5.3.3).

The prescribed maintenance work on the Slimdrive SF and Slimdrive SF-FR 2M is to be carried out by properly trained personnel at least once a year or when the service display on the display programme switch lights up.

X Do not loosen the connection between the corner operating gear and the locking drive unit.

7.3.2 Fitting the locking drive unitFitting is done in the reverse order of removal.

7.4 Electrical faultsCurrent active fault messages are briefly displayed cyclically every 10 s at the display programme switch during operation. In addition, they are also entered in the e® and Oe fault memories.If the dot lights up in the left half of the display programme switch, the system was unable to completely initial-ise.Either there is an obstruction or something in the system itself has become jammed.The dot disappears as soon as the door has been opened completely and closed again once.

Information about troubleshooting and elimination is available in the wiring diagram DCU1/DCU-2M.

If no fault is indicated during a malfunction or if the display programme switch is not functioning: X Check whether the power supply is connected. X Check cables and cable connections. X Check fuses in the controller and transformer, and replace if necessary (see below).

Troubleshooting

7.4.1 Replacing fuse in transformer

DANGER!Danger of fatal injury due to electric shock!

X Before working on electrical system, disconnect the system from the 230 V mains network, secure it against restarting and check to ensure that it is not supplied with power.

X You will find the fuse value on the wiring diagram.

X Insert a suitable screwdriver into the opening of the PCB cover (1) above the switch. X Carefully press end wall of PCB cover upward with the tip of the screwdriver.

This releases the snap catch. X Remove the PCB cover (1). X Pull the fuse holder off towards the front and replace the defective fuse. X Attach the fuse holder.

X Do not trap the cable when setting the cover in place.

X Set the PCB cover (1) on and clip in place.
