Master classes open for public Tuesday morning and afternoon Splendor Amsterdam is the trombone hotspot and inspiring meeting place for anyone interested in the trombone. The French stylist Michel Becquet, the German phenomenon on bass trombone Stefan Schulz and the four trombonists of the New York Philharmonic, Joseph Alessi, Colin Williams, David Finlayson and George Curran will be giving master classes, presentations and workshops to students of the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Watching and listening to these workshops and presentations gives the audience a look behind the scenes of the professional trombone world and more insight into the intricacies of trombone playing.

CD presentation World Trombone Quartet The World Trombone Quartet with Jörgen van Rijen (Netherlands), Michel Becquet (France), Joseph Alessi (USA) and Stefan Schulz (Germany) will play in the main hall of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. This is a unique opportunity see this inter national leading trombonists playing together on stage. During the concert the ensemble will present its first CD with music by Händel, Schumann, Schnyder, Lotti and Verhelst. Slide Factory is an international festival where trombonists (profes-sionals, students and amateurs) meet and inspire each other. This idea inspired the quartet members to get together and play their first concert at Slide Factory 2009 and hence the name of the World Trombone Quartet, from all over the world.

Grand finale concert met NTC + Michel BecquetThe New Trombone Collective brings, like in previous editions of the Slide Factory trombone festival, a varied and impressive program. No concert of these men is predictable or the same, just surprise, creativity and innovation: you can count on that. Guest soloist is the master trombonist Michel Becquet. He knows how to hit the audience with its exceptionally polished trombone sound. The concert will take place in the Bernard Haitink Hall (main hall) of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
