Name of the PIA (Project Implementing Agency): SLC Educational Society, Hyderabad Title of the Proposed Project: “Imparting Integrated Skill Training on preventive measures and maintenance of Home Appliances” Introduction:
The youth unemployment has become dire reality in most countries and the major reasons behind it are following:
Lower job creation.
Under-employment: Jobs inadequate with respect to skill and remuneration.
Greater labor market competition.
A wide gap and skill deficit in transition from school to work place.
Statement of the problem: With globalization and advancement in technology, there is paradigm shift from agrarian economy to industrialization. Youths are migrating to urban area for lucrative job. They are mostly opting as a mechanic or technician in electronic sector but lack of awareness, unavailability of quality training are some of the major obstacles in getting proper training and good job. There has been increase in use of electronic home appliances due to advancement in technology and endorsement through advertisement. There islarge number of migration from rural pockets but there is acute shortage of skilled workers because of inability of system in providing proper training. Jobs can be created in bulk if there is focus on developing a coordinated system and infrastructure to train people outpouring from rural pockets. Most of the companies are hiring skilled manpower in quest for quality service. Since our target is 1500 villages which are about 40 km from Hyderabad. The skill training can be designed to target youths who are residing in the vicinity of 60 km from the Pochampally X Roads, Ranga Reddy District.
The costs of joblessness poor quality jobs include:
Reduced self esteem
Discouragement
Diminishing health
Low well being

Addressing unemployment is important for economic development of the society. The youth unemployment can’t be dissociated from the overall unemployment. Therefore there is need of inclusive growth that offers permanent, productive, voluntary and decent employment to every section of society. The unemployment or underemployment leads poverty, illiteracy and further poor health of individual and society. While a comprehensive approach to boost up overall employment is a pre-requisite. However, specific attention on opportunities for youths is equally important. An integrated approach that combines macroeconomic and microeconomic can address labour demand and supply, quality and quantity of job. It can also employ innovative methods to address the specific limitation and needs of youths during training.
